Glenn veness said you've got to use the old 1mm fishing line loves water and doesent rot and it never breaks.
@garytopping36543 жыл бұрын
Your right mate bought a massive spool of it months ago it loves water stretches for ever and doesn’t snap only time it broke was when I went thru it with the trowel

Want to try Marshalltown MLS613 yellow & black line,(very good) not cheap, but they are 500' rolls, which I decant a length off the roll to my pins.
@lmilne48594 жыл бұрын
W rose line very good slightly thicker but never snaps. Very strong get a good stretch out it also.
@raymondbruce7175 Жыл бұрын
Nylon line of any thickness always provides good stretch property's and is ideal for bricklaying.

Braided lift shade cord on Amazon is the best stuff I’ve used by far. The 1mm stuff

I hope you see this! In the USA the best line to lay with is w. Rose bonded braided line. Super strong, super stretchy, and super visible. A little pricy but worth it mate
@RodianBuilds4 жыл бұрын
I'll look into those. Not tried them but I hear good things about w.rose
@lmilne48594 жыл бұрын
Rodian Builds Line very good some may think slightly thick for facing personal a think it’s top notch. 1 thing for if your doing a lot of wet foundation work blockwork look no further. W Rose keep in mind there’s a limber great flex which i prefer the standard blade would wee bit more thicker the marshaltown. But av found it’s far superior steel. Or likely made better. Get your self 1 with a rubber grip. Can get from 9inch then goes up 1/2 right up to 13inch 😳😆 if like chopping bricks with trowel suggest standard blade. Limber is way forward mate light as feather plenty snap in blade. Lol. Am done just bored mate lol. Speedcrete good to deal with for limber 1,s email they get back to you. Leicester bricky s tool shop sell the Rose trowels. Lol done now 😆😆😆😆👍🏻

You have to have very very good line wrapping techniques to use cardoc, figure of 8's or it doesnt dry so it rots

Rod the Wickes lines are not for bricklaying! they are way too thick! but pretty much any nylon line will do as long as you remember that.. 'a tight line is a level line'.....a brick layed is a brick payed!! ;-)

You need to rename it mate I reckon Instead of 2 minute Tuesday it would be better Tuesday Talk Makes more sense But it's not of my business Great videos ! Any chance you could do anything about masonry drills with batteries or grinders etc ( which is better to use because they are quite expensive and how long the battery lasts) etc Very handy tools on big sites especially when you need to cut some cavity closures in or take some bricks out instead of smashing it with hammer and bolster creating cracks every where Thank you

Those Amazon-linked trowels are getting a quite a few poor reviews- some reckon they're not original Marshalltown.
@evocarti4 жыл бұрын
Technically they're Marshalltown, but the steel they're made of now is from China. Any new Marshalltown you buy now has a greyish lacquer that takes about three weeks to shift. It's applied to protect the Chinese 'steel' from any kind of exposure during storage.

Lawrence Curwen the u.s.a federal trade commission. (F.t.c) mandates what can or can not be described as made it the u.s.a . .Marshalltown premier line brick trowels state on there website made in the u.s.a (from global materials) which I would take to mean a substantial amount of the components they are made from is imported into the u.s.a. As for the lacquer ,a number of trowel manufactures use this to stop the carbon steel that trowels are made with from corroding prior to purchase.
