G'day SS, you have a very impressive collection of vintage CC coins, primarily PCGS graded coins, I've seen on several channels how low mint CC coins are highly sought after by collectors in the USA, particularly the Morgan Dollars, interesting that everything produced from the CC mint came from a single silver source, thanks for sharing a video with a numismatic flavour. Cheers Peter J 😂👋🔥💪👍
@SilverStruck2 ай бұрын
Late to replying to this comment good sir! Yes- your 100% right, all the silver used to strike these coins came from the Comstock loade. The lower mintages and history behind this one time US mint makes coins like the ones shown here highly sought after for sure.

Fantastic CC collection, SS. Never get bored seeing them and noticed you’ve updated a few, great job! The 93cc was a very good deal if I remember correctly! Keep it up and happy holiday to you, my friend!
@SilverStruck2 ай бұрын
Hey Ace! I have updated a few but keep getting out bid for some of the coins I'd like to replace. That 93 was 5k at the LCS and then I sent it to CAC. I thought that was a good price at the time.

Great collection, thanks for sharing! RE: your most expensive coin In many ways, Good, Very Good graded coins sometimes have a charm that the blast white examples are missing. I think your example is beautiful. The wear, grime actually enhances the detail and appearance in my opinion. What a collection!! I'm big into Morgans. I can't get enough of straight graded colorfully toned examples. Silver is amazing how it tones beautifully. Thanks again.

I almost picked up a gold coin from Charlotte! In my collecting I tend to focus on one area, so for the Morgans, the CC's. This hobby get expensive fast if you chase the more rare stuff. I do have some O's! Perhaps I'll see what I have for a video down the road. Happy Thanksgiving!

And here i thought all you collected was vintage bars. That's quite a nice collection you have there. I don't have any CC coins but a few days ago I was at my LCS and they have a very nice CC trade dollar that caught my eye. I don't know if I want to part with $800 for it. I feel your story about the free coin being your most expensive. I didn't get it for free but buying a certain obsolete bank note became my most expensive too. My obsolete bank note collection of that one bank is now over 20. I've gotta be close to owning every one in existence. The bank was only in business for 6 years in the 1830s. I'm on a mission to find all of them. It's pretty cool to see you have coins along with your bars. If I'm not mistaken, I'd say you're more excited about these coins than your bars. I can hear it in your voice.
@SilverStruck2 ай бұрын
Oh yes, I love this CC collection- it's the base of my collection even over vintage bars. Would love to pick up a CC trade Unit someday but as you know- big, big money to get AU/BU. Still looking to upgrade some of these as I go, I really wanted all 13 dates in PCGS/CAC stickered. That's 8 coins that need to be upgraded. It's nice to talk with someone that know what I mean about the most expensive part of the collection- the one piece that sparked the passion for collecting! I hope you do a video someday showing your bank note collection, so awesome that you have almost all of them from the bank you collect!

Wow, that's a great collection, with a lot of good little stories attached to some of them too. The individual color that is added by each persons experience with getting the coins is part of what makes the hobby so fun. I'll tell you the truth. I do keep track of my stack, in terms of how much I have of what, but I can honestly say that I have never gone through my 200+ Morgan dollars and looked at their individual mint marks. Since I've been buying them for 17+ years, that's probably something that I should do at some point. Who knows, maybe I have a CC Morgan or two. I kinda doubt it, but since I've not gone through and checked, it's at least possible. I guess that's something to look forward to, for whenever I get the chance to do that in the future. I enjoyed seeing all of these coins at once. I hope you keep them all, even if there are some duds or cleaned coins in there, but they all have a story to tell about the overall journey. Great stuff! Have a very Happy Thanksgiving! Hopefully, you're able to spend it with all of your family and get to enjoy a lot of good food! I'm looking forward to some brisket, turkey, and ham in about 12 hours, but all of my family and extended family will be there...plus friends. Should be fun! Take care buddy!
@SilverStruck2 ай бұрын
About your 200+ Morgans, you may want to consider looking for VAMS! It's possible that among your raw Morgan's you could have certain varieties that could be worth some money. Of course studying each coin and indemnifying each variety takes hours and hours. Long from now if I get to retire, I hope to study raw coins for fun more- you never know what you can find! Heading down to Massachusetts to see family for Thanksgiving in a few hours. Sounds like you have a great day planned with friends and family! Happy Thanksgiving my friend!

Great collection. 👍 Why are Carson City coins so special? Do they have a lower mintage?
@SilverStruck2 ай бұрын
Hey Austrian! Yes, for the most part they are lower mintage than virtually all the other US mints as the Carson City Mint was a small building. Here's the real special part tho- The Carson City Mint was built to process all the silver out of the Comstock load, so all the silver used to strike CC silver coins only came from that one silver mine. You can't trace the raw silver back to it's origin for the other US Mints. The Carson City Mint was located out West during the time of famous US outlaws- the "wild West" times and is the only US silver coin to have a double letter Mint Mark- CC. There is more but those are the highlights.
