Very kind, thank you AGAU! This set pretty much is the crown jewel in my vintage collection. Took nearly 3 years to hunt all these rounds down. Someone that watches this channel found the 1988 and let me buy it. Without this channel, I could not have completed the set-crazy to think about! Happy Sunday- it's nice in NH today!

Congratulations and interesting. I like to collect Engelhard rounds but am under no illusion they are anything other than silver. Being patient I’ve been able to buy them for a couple of bucks over spot. I didn’t realize they have proofs so I need to go back and take a look.

The proofs really stand out- very deep fields and frosty devises. They will look different vs the business strike rounds- except the 1988, that one is really semi-proof.

WoW! Those are some serios prospectors. I have a whole 2 prospectors, but they are as scruffy as the guy who modeled for these rounds. I had heard of fake proof prospectors back in my day of LCS visits. REAL nice and informative video.

Incredible set, one of my most favorite videos you've done. I remember when you aquired that summit Prospector. Out of curiosity, what was the deciding factor to use this particular grader for these rounds?

Thank you for all your support 406! The deciding factor for using ANACS- two years ago when I sent in my first prospector to be graded...NGC and PCGS both shot me down and would not grade these rounds. ANACS agreed to grade the rounds. Still to this day, you may notice the only graded Prospectors are ANACS. Some day if NGC comes around, I might transfer over to them...they grade everything else, lol!

@SilverStruck I did look around and noticed that. Its an incredible set, my buddy picked up an 86' proof as a regular prospector round at the lcs, the more he looked at it he realized it was a proof.

It's exciting to see this awesome set. I have noticed there isn't a 87 proof coin. Engelhard site doesn't even show it. Seen one on eBay I believe, no way it could be real. The person says it extremely rare. What's your thoughts on it. By the way they are asking $700.00. Im not buying it or buying thecrap story about it either.

HI Goldpan, thank you for watching. There isn't a 1987 proof Prospector. I have seen the listing you are talking about and that round is not a proof for sure. The round advertised is nice but it's just a BU (brilliant uncirculated) round in wonderful shape. Another ad shows a 1986 "proof/proof like" for 399.00 and that is another example of a nice business strike round and not a proof. Collectors need to be real careful with Ebay! From your comment, sounds like you know better but others could be fooled.

Outrageous premiums- sometimes thousands for a single one ounce round. However- a one of a kind set that has not been put together until now (at least according to AE). So, not sure what the set is worth to be honest. I know I post a lot of collecting videos but I also have plain generic silver as well- balanced stack. Wound not want to "fire sale" this set.
