Great series! I've watched the other videos several times over. Very enjoyable and I find something new to learn each time. Thank you! ❤

i would have a tiny correction from a theologian, the immaculate conception has nothing to do with the physical way Mary was conceived, its instead wholly about her not even being touched by original sin through an act of grace by God, wheter she was conceived by a kiss or like (almost) everyone else, we actually don't know although the kiss Story is generally seen a like a legend, and i suspect people like Aquinas had their qualms with it even back then. But besides that you really give an accurate representation of theology in your videos, which is exceedingly rare here on KZbin, even for history channels, so i must really commed you for your research and expertise and thank you for all the videos!!

Fair enough. My understanding of immaculate conception comes from my knowledge of Augustine's views on original sin passed through concupiscence, but I'm not an expert on the modern view. Thanks for the feedback!

@@klarareinisch1314 I thought original sin was disobedience, not sex?
@klarareinisch131416 күн бұрын
Yeah I suspected you got it from old Augustine, and I also strongly suspect that he only got to that conclusion bc of is own life experiences and how he looked back at them after his conversion. Thomas Aquinas however did not have such experiences and thus did not share Augustines views of concupiscentia at all. In fact he thought that sex was in itself a good thing or at least not actively bad.@@studiumhistoriae

Awesome series. Dante really captured a lot of conflicting beliefs of his time some sinners are also seen in heaven and then matriarchs are in high heaven. Some self awareness not present today. I am pagan myself and it is nice to learn more about what Catholics believe in.

Amazing, just nice to hear people remembered for doing good things. I know you didn't grow up in a very religious home, yet you understanding and knowledge is amazing though.

Thank you! But 1. BCE/CE is Jewish anti-Christ convention. They have own calendar. Let them use that. BC/AD only, for ours! 2. Goal of all Christians, not most, is Heaven. 3. I suggest that you link to parts 1 & 2 in the description below the video. (And to other parts in the descriptions for the other videos.)
