I'd argue Adrien is not in denial. He knows he likes Marinette but given how Marinette has constantly denied having feelings for him, he translates this as friendship. If she confessed to him, I don't believe he'd deny his feelings so that's really on her. He asks her in Troublemaker whether she's lying about not having feelings for him, she denies. He asks if Marinette was suggesting just the two of them go ice skating (translation: "you mean.. like a date?"), she denies. She kisses him on the cheek in Mayura and quickly follows it up with a thank you. Not a confession. He understandably takes the kiss as a sign of appreciation for the very kind things he just said about her, instead of romantic feelings. He asks what she really thinks of him in The Puppeteer 2 after he's left utterly confused by Nino. She can't actually tell him for the life of her until the end of the episode. She leaves him and Kagami to eat the ice cream together in Heart Hunter. She calls him a friend about 20 times in the New York special! And then didn't even say anything to him before he left. Ladybug is the one in denial for her feelings towards Cat Noir. Have you seen how sweet she's been to him in season 4? After the whole Cat Blanc ordeal. Then in Miracle Queen and NY.

I’ve already commented this on some other Miraculous videos, but I feel the need to spread the word: Notice how this umbrella scene played out in the exact same way as the last one, except key differences in how it unfolded … Adrien and Marinette walk out the door to leave, it’s raining, the Gorilla waiting for Adrien at the bottom of the steps. Adrien offers his umbrella, it closed and makes them laugh, then there’s a moment of falling in love and he gets in the car and drives away, Marinette walking home. Then the words, “Those two are made for each other” are said. But notice the differences, despite the same events playing out. Adrien and Marinette have switched places. She’s standing in front of him with the umbrella this time, and _she’s_ the one to offer it to him. And instead of the umbrella just closing on her, it closes on _them both._ When Adrien has to leave, instead of friendzoning her and walking away, he is too busy looking at her and bonks his head on the car and _Marinette_ laughs at _him_ first. Kagami, Adrien’s former love interest, is now the one saying, “Those two are made for each other” in the place of Master Fu. I hope you see where I’m going with this.

I don't know, Kagami was aware that Adrien has feelings for Marinette and that Marinette has feelings for Adrien, but they are both oblivious about that. One thing I noticed at the start of this vid is that the way Adrien is looking to his right when Kagami said “You really like Marinette, do you?”. Even though he said he did not like her as a girlfriend, his face was saying it, if I’m not wrong I think I saw him “I like her” blushing.

Best way to explain it is he is in denial because he thinks he's in love with Ladybug as well as he might be scared about what his father might think. His sense of worth is diminished because of Gabriel, so he goes to the safest option. Kagami AKA replacement for Ladybug since he's self assured that she likes him even though he's not over Ladybug. Season 4 will probably make him realise his feelings for Mari we hope!

I think the reason why Adrien is still in denial is because he’s not scared to act on his feelings like Marinette is. Therefore if Adrien realized his feelings we’d have Adrienette in the same episode and the writers want to milk the love geometry for as long as possible. I think That’s why Adrien hasn’t realized his feelings for Marinette yet.

Adrien is so dense and so blind when will he realizes that he has feelings for marinette I mean so many characters from season 1-the new York special to this season has pointed out that there made for each other. Plus Adrien is showing so many signs that he dose have feelings for marinette but he still doesn't see it in himself that he has feelings for marinette. But the second umbrella scene is hope that Adrien is starting having feelings for marinette so hopefully we get to see that moment that Adrien opens his eyes and admits that he has feelings for marinette. Hopefully we can get to see that happen I hope Plagg starts his little embrassing magic and bugs him about it plus so he can get in adriens thick skull that he has feelings for marinette. I always just sorta assumed that Ladybug was Adrien's first crush and because he was like,,, immediately head over heels in love with her, he has no clue how to recognize any romantic feelings that aren't just as strong. Like he has a crush on marinette but isn't entirely in love with her, so he just sorta assumes the romantic feelings are platonic
