Ok, I want to point something out. I think that, while he is still in love with Ladybug, he is also falling for Marinette without realising it. I know many people will say 'how can he not realise his own feelings?' and 'if he's able to tell that he's in love with Ladybug, then why wouldn't he also be able to tell that he's in love with Marinette?'. Well there are two reasons. A) when he fell for Ladybug, it was almost instant. He fell for her heroism, bravery, confidence, quick witts, compassion and ,I guess you could say, wisdom. With Marinette, though, it is different. They started off as friends, albeit her akwardness around him, but he is slowly developing subconscious feelings for her that go beyond friendship. He is slowly and steadily falling for her sweetness, kindness, optimism, selflessness and warmness. He fell for both sides of her, but for completely different reasons and in completely different ways. That's why he can not fully acknowledge it yet. B) I know some say 'why did he turn to Kagami instead of Marinette?'. Well, here, comes the second reason he doesn't let himself admit his feelings for Marinette. After being rejected so many times by Ladybug, it is natural that he will try to move on. However, it also natural for him to be afraid of another rejection. Plus, this time it will not be the funny, free and confident Chat Noir. It will be the famous and restricted Adrien Agreste. Who wouldn't feel insecure? The girl he would date as Adrien would have to accept and put up with his fans, famous status, restricting, cold and controlling Gabriel, his friendship with Chloe, who I love but we all know she wouldn't react well, and not to mention Lila. And let's not forget the coming issues with Felix and Amelie. We know that Marinette would be by his side and support him any way she could, but he doesn't know it. From his perspective only someone who has similar issues would be able to cope with his civilian life. Someone who mirrors him. And that someone, in his mind, is Kagami. Not only that, but like I said earlier he is afraid of getting rejected again. Marinette has told him many times that she doesn't see him like that and he thinks that she likes Luka. Subconsciously, he is afraid that she would reject him and it could wrack their friendship, which is too precious to him. Kagami, on the other hand, has made it clear that she has feelings for him. So, taking all that into account, it makes sense for him to turn to Kagami while trying to get over Ladybug. Also... In The Puppeteer 2, Adrien is extremely sad at the idea that Marinette might not like him. And he really goes above and beyond to be a "good friend" to her. I feel like Adrien doesn’t really love kagami, he’s just desperately trying to not love ladybug and kagami is probably getting used by her mother and doesn’t actually love Adrien. (If she actually loved him, she wouldn’t pressure him to move so fast in the relationship) and Adrien deep down feels a pull towards marinette because it was confirmed that Adrien considered her being ladybug multiple times, and it’s just impossible for him to be in love with ladybug and to never feel a single thing for marinette when they are the same person (even if he doesn’t know it)
