By FAR the best Kragg guide out there right now. Also Smash attack sounds way better than strong attack.

currently bronze, will see what changes after this guide edit: 1 hour later and I went from 500 -> 580 rating with only 1 loss (because I got a little silly), great guide. big takeaways from this I got that weren't obvious from the game alone which helped me get those wins I think (before this guide I had 2 hours of playtime vs friends and 1 hour online): -up-air combos into up-air -back air is NEVER a kill move, always a damage dealer to lead into further combos -down throw 99.99% of the time (maybe its cuz i'm low elo but every now and then an upthrow mixup did well) -leave big pillars by the side of the stage and play on that side of the stage (this will make people hit you into them and you live to like 200% always unless they break it) -use your block (the one you throw) whenever you don't know what to do. it's really nice to have, might be worth labbing out the little block down b thing shown in this video, can also easily lead to free combo starters/damage and is generally hard to punish -your down-b (down special) is a really good tool and spikes super hard pretty easily -side b can be used as a recovery mixup tool, use it sometimes -side b can be cancelled using jump if you hit someone (or their sheild) and has superarmor (i knew that last bit) -don't spam a to finish jabbing, the first hit of jab leads into better options -down smash is king (i actually already felt/knew this from in game but it's worth mentioning in text) -nair is very fast and somewhat spammable -forward air is primarily a kill/get away from me move -it might be worth considering getting in the habit of pummeling (I always forget to and did while getting these wins)

Nice guide, very well put together! The joy of Kragg is learning what stupid shenanigans you can string togethet that you shouldn’t be able to, happy for all the new Kragglings. (Example: hitting sideB on shield lets you cancel, but they can keep holding shield and punish the followup. Unless…you jump and air grab them out of shield…)

It doesn’t, it removes regrab protection, meaning downthrow is now a chain grab instead of them being immune to grabs after the dthrow

With the controller noise in the background it could be the type of microphone you are using. There are two types being "dynamic" and "condenser" mics and it seems like you have a Condenser microphone which will pick up any sound in the room and is more sensitive. If you want to not have controller noises in the background then maybe it might be worth it to switch to a dynamic microphone which is a lot less sensitive and will only really pick up your voice. Only downside to dynamic being that you need to be close to the microphone so if thats a downside for you then stick to what you got (ADHD the goat sometimes and I had a microphone research hyperfixation at one point lmao)

good kragg guide but i would want to know how the pros recover with kragg. you touched on the more basic stuff but there is also cancelling the side b you didn't mention to slow you down, and then you have throwing the rock and hitting it with side b to get another jump (?) which i have found tricky to do myself so i want a tutorial for that

Hey man since you seem like you know what you’re talking about I gotta ask you a question. I main Kragg and my friend mains Lox, whenever we are fighting the experience is kind of boring since he just like over abuses shield, parry, and grab. How would you recommend I switch it up to where using those isn’t the best option, typically when a match starts I do a dash attack or like grab a rock and pressure him with it. Thank you! (Also love the guide btw)

I have a question about the bair section of the video. You do these 2 bairs in 2 jumps back to back without losing height. The only way I seem to be able to do that is by doing jump + strong button + back almost simultaneously. I'm new to platfighters and thought people used the c-stick for aerials. Are you able to do that double jump bair with the c-stick? If so, is your thumb just moving that fast that you can hit jump then move to joystick then back to jump then back to joystick almost simultaneously? Really appreciate the video btw! Great to not have to put the video into 2x speed for a tutorial.
@ProofBlock2 ай бұрын
it honestly just comes down to preference whether you want to use the C stick or not, I personally play on gamecube control and jump with Y so its really easy for me to do double bair or bair double jump bair by just holding the dirrection and pressing A on timing. I think if you go in the training mode for just a little bit and figure out the general ranges of when you need to jump to get a second bair or where you can just throw out a second one because it makes a massive difference.

Slow down! The words per second in this guide is massive. I think a script and more than one take would go miles for improving the quality of this already good guide.
@BarderBetterFasterStrongerАй бұрын
Also you talk about hitboxes a lot in this video, such as Up Tilt's directional properties, but didn't show them. Toggling hotbox overlay in training mode would have really sent home your points and supplemented the content.

Directional influence. If you get hit you can move your stick in the direction you want to go. And it can save your life. Like if you get launched off stage push your stick towards the stage to live longer.
