Orcane about to feel the wrath of my Kragg F-smash after I parry the most obvious puddle boosted smash that's ever existed 🐋🥺💀

Honestly being told to slow down and observe things more, and also having the importance of wavelanding explained fully, are things I've only heard from you. I bought the game just 3 days ago and all the guides I've been watching have basically been saying "learn how to move well so you can have more control, always be quick so you can keep your opponent guessing" without really spelling it out properly; which as a complete casual is what I need. I'd been trying to focus so hard on just going fast that I was essentially just button mashing, and still being super punishable. TL;DR thank you for actually giving noob friendly explanations, and also for spelling out that I need to actually know what's going on in the match as opposed to just spamming shorthop aerials and hoping to land a strong attack after a certain point

I'll be honest, I'm completely new to taking platform fighters seriously. The most I did was play with friends before this. Being given all these concepts and terms is seriously amazing! Thank you!

That’s a good idea! Thing is, because I’d be able to upload them SO frequently, I wouldn’t want to clutter my upload feed with it. I’d hate to strictly put it behind a paywall of the channel membership, but I’m figuring I might do tourney and vod reviews as apart of the channels membership (not even sure how many people would pay 4.99 to see it). I’ll figure that out and probably announce it in a rivals video.

Really good advice! About half of it can be applied to real life too 😅. My piece of advice is play Loxodont like I did. I'm bad at most of the stuff in this video and Lox forces you to get good. They don't have any spammable gimmicks like the others so you have to be good at the game to win.

@NotxalkBN for me personally, the bit about conditioning your opponent to do what you want them to do so you can win. I get stuck in my own head when it gets intense during a match and I start rinse repeating strategies and it gets sloppy, they start expecting it. In other words I need to use mixups and force the enemy to expect one thing so I can push them towards another thing to win.

8:56 the sparkles are fast falling from my understanding which hitfalling is too, so its only useful on rising aerials/when you are not at the apex right?
@NotxalkBN2 ай бұрын
Precisely. Conversely, you can use it after a jump to land quicker, which serves as a way to mix up the opponent 💪
@jesseshadowen82182 ай бұрын
so i know in smash 'hitfalling' can't be performed until after you reach the apex of your jump, is that not true in this game? can you hitfall the moment you connect a rising aerial? I'd love to know the answer to this one!

the parrying part is tricky because I haven't yet figured out my optimal button configuration. I tried using R for shield and L fo parry but it feels weird at times and not very intuitive. maybe I should try X or Y because I'm a stick jump user so I don't really need those buttons. this is for gcc I should add^^

One question I have is it preferable to have tilts or strong attacks on right stick? I'm so used to having my smash attacks on it from playing Melee and Ult but I've seen some people say remapping it to tilts is handy.
@NotxalkBN2 ай бұрын
I’d say use whatever is comfortable. Ultimately, I’d say using tilt’s for right stick is better due to more consistency on your tilt attacks, but if you’re like me who’s used to smash attacks on right stick, then go for it. You can still perform just as well

If you're doing a normal throw, is there ever a reason not to pummel? Is it always simply extra damage?
@NotxalkBN2 ай бұрын
Sometimes it’s better to do a throw quickly so that you mix up your opponents DI, otherwise the pummel is extra damage only. Good question!
@chimichangle2 ай бұрын
Do i have to be holding a direction already when i get hit to di? I feel like im not moving the needle at all sometimes, maybe bc im inputing too late? Seems hard to be ready for it though..
@NotxalkBN2 ай бұрын
Yea, needs to be _while_ your in hitstun (at least that’s how it functioned in rivals 1), so the input needs to be pretty fast and you’d need to hold in that direction
@ClownboyBandi2 ай бұрын
for normal di you can press the direction you want after getting hit. I would suggest hitting training mode and using the settings there to see the di lines, they show you the max you can steer yourself in either direction. that said, the sooner you hit the direction you want, the more you'll move in that direction. (there is something called ssdi that needs to be done as you get hit, but learning regular di first is more important)

a lot of characters have combos into kills, heck most good characters can do grabs into strongs or other kill moves. so while yes learning to use your kill moves is good, dont just say don't worry about combos.
@NotxalkBN2 ай бұрын
My whole point was to not worry about them _too_ much for right now and learn what can kill, since this is aimed at an audience of people just picking the game up, I stressed learning kill moves since I struggled with that at first.
