Couple suggestions to make your assassin play more fun. First get a insight polearm merc so your able to through down as many traps as you want. Secondly, throw them down all the time where ever you walk, ias helps here. It'll quicken your kills. Third Crescent moon now works on your traps, and is a must. Third, for big groups, don't forget to get one point into death sentry for that corpse explosion.

Just go for death sentry! Sure its a bit less lightning damage than light sentry, but you get the massive increase to corpse explode range. I played death sentry assasin for years and it pwns lightnsentry sin formoverall clearing speed. And enough mind blast so you can keep most monsters stunned and stationary, increases your safety and easier for infinity pole merc and sentries to hit mobs when theyre stopped

My top is the Fist of Heaven paladin. Its my favourite class anyway, and since they boosted the Fist of Heaven - its number one for me. But i always start a Fire Sorce, make it to Hell act 2 and make my Paladin with the 2x Spirits prepared for him and sometimes +6 Holy Shock Scepter, Spirit, Lore and so on )

I agree about the Trap Assassin. Add to that you're wielding a shield and mace and it really just doesn't feel much like an Assassin.

FoH pally carried me through my early season recently and was really nice. Swapped to mosaic sin once I got some runes for double mos and enigma. Summoner necro holds a special place in my heart and I should probably revisit and do a better build of it. Lightning javazon is my alltime favorite build even if the tp speed is slow. Haven't really touched druid

You should try the Whirlwind Assassin! This build might not be as good as the TrapSin, but it is a lot of fun. If you have amazing gear and are level 95+, you can make it a combination of WhirlwindSin, TrapSin, and KickSin, and you get a lot more variance.

I was running a nova sorc and she was nice but I came across too many mobs and bosses I couldn't kill. I don't have Infinity or Griffon's or anything elite like that. I decided to do wind druid and I've been extremely happy with that character. HOTO, Spirit Monarch, Shako, Enigma, Chancies, Aldur's Boots, SoJ, Dwarfstar, and Nightsmoke belt. I'm killing everything in hell mode. I can kill Baal but he takes too long so I skip him and do everything else.

Nova is my way to go. With max light res she's incredible. Mosaic does more damage but when you find no enemy around you, you start to panic about charges etc. Nova is the most comfortable build to play the endgame.

Really great video here sir. These categories are how i mentally design characters too. Especially when thinking of new ladder season where you have nothing to tweak a character with. You have to go budget and build up to end game. You have to be able to mf and it needs to be easy and speedy. Such a good video, this one

Summon Necro is the best period! I personally always run flickering flame helm. +3 to corpse explosion -10% to -15% enemy fire res, and virtual immunity to fire res. Infinity and bramble on merc. With a Hustle golem.... Bro just unbelievable

I find there are usually pvm and pvp based skill trees. Back when the game was still kinda young you remember a LOT more people dueled and pvp was as big a part of the game as pvm. A great example is the bowazon who is a GREAT duelist and the javelin set which is superior in pvm.

I love me some bowazon. Think Windforce is my favorite unique in the game. Don't forget the trapsin also gets corpse explosion with the Death Sentry trap. Throw 4 lightning boyes and 1 death sentry and GG.

I remember lightning trap assassin being one of the most fun builds I played until I got to hell difficulty and the amount of lightning immune mobs. Think I gave up on it pretty early in but I'm sure there were ways around later.

How you feel about Trapsins is how I feel about Summon Necros. I don't want to stand around waiting for something else to get a kill. Yeah Summon is quicker bc you can then corpse explode, but hey you can do that with traps too! And it's just as boring.

My current fav is a werewolf. I has a act 5 merc with lawbringer, which breaks all physical immunes and now you can summon pets to protect you. The kills come quick.

Don’t sleep in that druid I’m having a blast and he hits like a truck but until you have enigma it’s rough but very doable lots of areas to farm with the two damage sorces and cyclone armor absorbs a ton of damage. I agree with most of this list except the singer barb, I am not a fan at all. The mana consumption is painful without gear and even with GG gear it feels like playing a nova sorc that traded almost all its damage for a stun, sure its safe but the kill speed is so slow which feels terrible. I personally like the WW, pitzerker, and the throw barb better not only because it feels like playing a barbarian but it actually does something that dosen't feel like a gimped version of a different build.

I feel like WW barb is better than the singer, you get more to plus skills with it. But find item doesn't work with MF (so I'm told), and you can still get pretty high MF end game. It is a mana hog though

Always wonder why ppl talking about budget in solo/offline game. You get what you find. In online if you buy Item you want, you just pay by items, currency you find(farm,grind ect.) so Item xxx cost XXX runs or simillar. But if you play ssf (like in Poe, ) word "budget" make no sense for me. You aquire items by finding/farming/grinding. No currency need. Just time to find items you need. The only budget you need is time and luck.

Title is a bit missleading because you mention best build for each character, and then you put down your preferences. Sorceress => Frozen Orb + either Fireball, Firewall, Nova Paladin => Hammerdin. FoH without gear is plain bad. Barbarian => Whirlwind. Nothing beats this, quick efficient and doesn't require gear other than big weapon damage and some mana leech. The plus part is, it doesn't spot you from investing into Find Item. Rest of the builds are exactly the best builds.

What you call ease I call boredom. I will never touch a summon necro, it's so boring. I really like builds where you can do something, use different skills, position your character, chose a monster to attack and so on. Thus, my favourite class is amazon. I really like different Bowazons but the Javazon is generally a lot stronger. Fof the Sorc, I would agree on nova for fun, but dual builds like FO/FB early on. The druid is pretty good on fire although wind will be your best playthrough. Since I'm still playing LOD I cannot use a throw barb which might be my favourite in D2R. The Paladin is weird. He has so many good builds, it's hard to chose. Hammerdin in LOD might be the easiest but you can literally play through the game with normal difficulty equipment on a holy freeze paladin. I like melee assassins as well as fire traps and blades. I could end up with any weird combination of skills, but I will just mention Riftsin and TS/DT kicksin with the decrepify sword.
