I take my tire and plastic fender liners off. Sit on a stool and use long extensions. Use a piece of rubber fuel line slipped over top of spark plug to get them started by hand. Good video. 👍

That sounds much more relaxing. My back will remember that trick next time I'm sure. Thank you 👍

In case anyone is curious about the difference between the two part numbers: (credit to Jamminator) The 41-110 is made by Denso and is the factory Delco plug (rebadged Denso #ZTJ16R10 plug). The 41-162 is made by NGK and is the recommended Delco replacement (rebadged NGK #IZTR5B11 plug). The 41-162 (NGK) is spaced to .043" while the 41-110 (Denso) is spaced to .040". The 41-162 (NGK) has a 0.6mm tip while the 41-110 (Denso) has a 0.4mm tip. After remaining stock of 41-110 is depleted, there will only be 41-162 available for use. Both spark plugs have a factory anti-seize coating and explicitly state not to use additional anti-seize. That said, do what makes you happy because stuck plugs really suck. Put di-electric grease only on the ceramic portion to aid with preventing carbon tracking, try not to get it on the metal contact. Do not over torque these, and don't use a plug that you dropped on the ground, as both will cause delayed failure modes that will haunt you.

I just changed my plugs and wires today with GM wires and ACDelco double platinum plugs as that's what RockAuto and AutoZone show for my 06 Tahoe 5.3.. It's running great, so I'm just going to leave them in. Folks complain about cylinder 8 being difficult, but after doing my 93 Astro a few days ago, #8 on my 06 Tahoe 5.3 was nothing. I don't sit under the hood of my car, I stand on a Harbor Freight folding metal stool which works out just right.

I got 02 Denali 245k and 03 seirra with 98k only 4.8 but i like it... Goes to the gas station a lot less than my 6-0... It just needs more rpm to get sane job done... Where I rarely notice it is like certain hills. My Yukon would stay in third gear but the Sierra has to downshift

Having long arms helps a ton! I have a question about the coils...are they supposed to be tight in their housing? Seems like a tight fit is the way it's supposed to be not a little sloppy...
@michiganporterАй бұрын
I guess my question pertains to the round coils

The coils are supposed to be tight to the metal brackets. Yea, they have bolts you can tighten them up a bit.

What, no heat shields for the plug wires? The wires are fun to remove especially if the last person to change the plugs didn't lube the boot.

They go on the bottom of the boot over the spark plugs. I always use them!

One of my coil harnesses has a black jumper wire... Do you think it was just a repair or a Jimmy rig? It also has a black black wire going to the ground where the alternator sits. That might be just a Jimmy rig ground

the numbers on plugs were always a heat range. Like the AC Delco r44t that is for a 350. The r43t is a colder plug and the r45t is hotter. All other maker of plugs had the same thing, but the AC is the only one i know. I would imagine its still the same for plugs on these new shitbox motors.

my idea is shooting the parts cannon at something and hoping it fixes it is a bad idea. Factory parts are good, aftermarket is junk. Get service data, from Mitchel or ALLDATA or one of the others. You need specific tools and information to diagnose something.

Iridium spark 41-962 platinum Says for My 2002 chevy tahoe 5.3 But yet you say These are the 2 numbers for the spark Plugs is what I should get but they say they don't fit why what is the deal with that
@MattsShopАй бұрын
They had a service bulletin. They didn't think the trucks would go another 100,000 miles because they were old. So the recommendation from GM is the Platinum plugs. 41-110 and 41-162 WILL work. Just double check the length with the old plugs before installing them. Just to make sure you're good.
