Great video. To answer your question, no. The Vortex ECU does not fully end the “snatchy” throttle response off idle. It does however end the annoying killing of the fuel injector on decel with no throttle applied. Ive found the stock ECU to be dangerous as it can lead to stalling at inappropriate times. For me, the Vortex has all but totally eliminated stalling. I will probably look into the throttle tamer to tone down the on off feel of the 450 as there is nothing more annoying and dangerous than hitting a bump and getting that burst of throttle at slow speeds. I also recommend the Vortex. Gone is the extremely lean operation. The bike runs much better and does not cough and sputter on deceleration. Plus it runs much cooler. Ive done no other performance modifications to my 450 unless you consider the seat concepts seat a performance mod.

Thanks for the insight! Sounds like this or a G2 throttle tamer will combine nicely with the vortex, if it does what it did to my stock ECU than it'll be like butter with a vortex. And yes, I definitely consider a comfort seat a performance upgrade 👍

I appreciate your different, low cost efficient approach to mods on the 450RL! Stoked that your homemade throttle tamer is working! I have a '22 I picked up with 500 miles and I went Vortex and full Yosh exhaust, and my bike is smooth, powerful fixed and so fun! All be it louder than I would like. I think your move to the relatively inexpensive 450x exhaust was brilliant. I'm actually thinking I might go that route! Your welcome to ride my bike and compare - could be fun content. I'm also in San Diego
