My favorite player growing up. I was 11 when he was drafted and instantly loved him. Never knew I would get 20 years worth of D Green. Thanks.

To be that fast in his later years is amazing he torched the angle on the Giants pick 6
@playedout1482 ай бұрын
Really lost a step in later years...down to just under 4.4. 😂

That was probably the only pick six where he had to run full speed. He was moving on the earlier one vs the Lions too but once he cut back to the middle it was cruise control from there

Mr. Green was the last pick [28th] in the first round of the 1983 NFL Draft. He also was the 6th player of that draft to reach the Hall of Fame. All draft in that first round. He was the ONLY defensive player that draft to reach the HOF!

Amazing how many interceptions he had on throws where he misses the WR and Darrel would turn into the WR and catch the pass and run it in so fast…amazing field vision by Mr green

The first pick in the video is what I picture when I think of RFK Redskins football. The colors, the field, the uniforms, the mud. So perfect. The next pick looks like we’re in the Brady Bunch back yard. Nice field Dallas.

What's crazy is that he had the size of a Nickel Cornerback but was locking down the opponent's WR1 every Sunday. Only player that rivaled his speed was Willie Gault (not Deion) and Michael Irvin said he was the first true shutdown cornerback in the NFL.

Darrell Green is one of my favorite players. I hope the new ownership team brings back these colors and uniforms... I know the name isn't coming back. So many great memories with those colors. The current colors and uniforms just are not right. They don't feel like the team I've cheered on the past 36+ seasons.

I rewatched his rundown of Dickerson and i think initially he takes a bad angle like he underestimated Dickersons speed, but then adjusted and still ran him down of course.

Thinking back..Over 40 years ago in DG28's first season..I was the loudmouth in section 335 @ RFK yelling " Cut Darrell Green !!! ". Sometimes I would substitute other words for "Cut". I thought he was too small, overrated and was always out of position. He relied on speed too much and couldn't tackle. Obviously he got better or was I just another stupid inebriated idiot. In any event thanks for the memories. I was probably at every home game in the video.. HTTC...F4ODC...🎩🏈🎩
