Not only is top speed what made him so dangerous, it's his longevity at having speed. Being able to have an INT in 19 consecutive seasons, with two of them being at the age of 40 and 41 is wild. Very few people last even half as long as Green does and most lose their speed, yet he always was able to keep up with everyone. It's what made him so good for so long.

Darrell Green was the most amazing NFL player I’d ever seen. Definitely, the fastest. His closing speed was uncanny, which allowed him to catch so many fast runners from behind. They didn’t show it, but he caught Barry Sanders AND Napoleon Kaufman from behind. Of the many HOFers the Redskins have, Darrell Green is arguably the best.
