Honestly Hidely could of done it but DT’s Mat awareness and position is too good

Hidlay is a moose out there. Reminds me of Ringer in that way: Insanely strong, deceptively fast and very athletic. Not sure if he would have been able to run down DT but kudos to him for bringing it back to and keeping it close after falling behind by 6 quickly.

I was thinking that DT had another gear, and he would have hit it if Hidlay had gotten that takedown where DT stepped over to stalemate, or something got it within one point, but he was just being efficient. That being said, Trent really impressed me, considering what DT did in the last three matches. Those guys are no slouches, but DT looked like a college wrestler when he goes back to his old high school to help out. I would guess that Hidlay just doesn't have anyone at practice to give him looks like DT.

Taylor is not on the condition he was. He's been slacking. I think we see peak Taylor against Sadulaev. He knows his conditioning was not World Champion level. That's why he lost to Brooks too. Match with Sadulaev should be epic unless one of them catches the other.

I always watch his matches with great interest, and I know that the most interesting comes after the 5th min. :)

IMO, Taylor is the best US wrestler in the past decade. He seems fired up for a 92 kg title! would be amazing to see him wrestle Sadulaev and Ghasempour.

Hidlay had me worried. Taylor actually got a bit lucky in that match. Like @8:11, that was close. Then right after in the next exchange. Taylor still would have won but the match was competitive.

I love David Taylor and I hate freestyle scoring rules. Sometimes even the commentators sound confused about some of the points awarded.

Congratulations to DT! To continue at this high level of competition is awesome to see! Camera man at the end needed to stay focused on DT better!

Watching Taylor, he kind of reminds me of David Schultz in that he's just stout.
