No. He's not playing his bass like a guitar. He's playing it like a 6-string bass. And he's one of the best bassists in the world. I know. I'm the former Assistant Editor for "Bassics" magazine and a contributor for "Bass Player."

I get the impression that you guys thought that this was done live. Thus your reaction to the drummer playing bass and the bass player playing drums. Not so. With that said, these guys are absolutely amazing. Their creativity and technical expertise are off the charts.

You are seeing Jesus' spirit in these young men. I had the pleasure to take bth of my daughter's to hear them live and they are BETTER than their recordings!. The stopped performing for a couple of years when they were managed by David Foster. Later, they got back into performing when Quincy Jones took over their contract. I believe these young men are believers by the way they treated my daughter right after the concert. She was eight and terrified and they spoke to her personally and signed one of her t-shirts. My oldest daughter turned me on to them. God is moving especially in Sweden where they are from. I love your reaction to them!
@mattias51574 ай бұрын
Someone told a story about them: there was a short documentary about them and someone put 12 beers into the fridge. One of the boys in the band commented: "Why so many beers, there are just 8 of us in the bus!" Christ energy or not, they are not in it for the drugs as the sex pistols claimed to be! Actually jonah studied in a Christian music school for a while, he might be a Christian.

By the way, Henrik was playing a 5-string, not a 6-six string...
@michaelgwfrogwelge2 жыл бұрын
At different times, Henrik plays 4, 5, or 6 string basses. The 6 is actually a contrabass guitar, invented many years ago (late '70s???) by jazz & R&B bassist supreme Anthony Jackson. The 5 string is a compromise between 4 & 6 and is now very possibly the most common format for both bass guitars and bass violins...

Unrelated side note: Does anyone know if Take 6 is doing backups on this? Sounds like it, but I can’t tell if it’s really them, or Jonah multitracked, and harmonized like them. Anyone know?
@3RTracing5 жыл бұрын
doubt is as DL have always been masterful at their own multitracking. But it's possible, I just doubt it
@MarkFowlerthefunkee15 жыл бұрын
3RTracing The reason I ask is they are now being produced by Quincy Jones, and Take 6 are frequent collaborators of his. However, you’re probably right! It’s just DL!
