The fact that you make videos, run a channel, while in medical school, and still take care of yourself and exercise is impressive. Anyways you seem to have turned out to be pretty well adjusted in life. It makes me happy and motivated to see someone that I know is doing good and shining. You’ve definitley got the highest level of respect from me for doing what you do. ✊🏻💯🔥 Keep it up!

222!I am a pre-med student and I work as a radiology tech! New scrubs would be fantastic, I am still wearing mine from my CNA days 3 years ago! You really inspire me, I have such a difficult time finding the energy to go to class some days, but its really nice to know there are other people out there that feel that way too! It's SO great that you are so open about your school journey, how you keep trying and keep pushing forward. The thing I say all the time is this:It's A Beautiful Day To Be Alive!and it truly does make it a little easier to find the good in the day even when its Wednesday and I have 10 hours of class...

Hi Rachel, I felt a bit awkward to just comment 222 so I just want to say thank you so much for posting your med school vlog every week. It really means a lot to me, especially I am also a first-year med student. It just feels there is another great accompany to my med school journey. Med school is tough and your positivity and endless energy in the vlogs really make me happy and motivated to continue my journey. Once again, thank you very much for what you are doing and I hope you have another great week!

Did you ever feel like you'd be able to collect/comprehend this sheer level of knowledge? I mean obviously you're killing it and you clearly knew you'd have the capability to be a doctor or you wouldn't have gone to medical school but it's so intriguing to me and the sheer volume and detail of the things you learn is wild. Does it just build or is it as crazy from that perspective as it is from the outside looking in? I'm intrigued by medical school but it's overwhelming to even think of all the details you're learning let alone to be the one studying it.

Hi Rachel- WUHS COMP graduate ‘97. Great vlog! You got this girl. Thank you for showing scenes of the campus. It has grown so much. Classroom is same layout. From your classroom scene I know ,more or less, where you sit. Piece of advice- take challenging rotations. You’ll be better prepared for your internship year which is really tough. Also, consider taking both the COMLEX and the USMLE. When I took them they were offered a week apart. You are studying the same information and some residency programs may be able to relate better to the USMLE score. New subbie! Best of luck. Anita B

Hi! Thank you for the advice and thanks for taking the time to comment. It means a lot. I am planning on taking both! :) And I definitely will choose challenging rotations. The goal is to learn as much as humanly possible. Take care!

222 Thank you for sharing your journey with the south herd! I’m optimistic, as a pre-med student your raw and unfiltered journey has me feeling hopeful for the future and maybe Medical school isn’t so farfetched... I stand by this quote I read on a bookmark not too long ago, “if you are not willing to learn, no one can teach you, if you’re determined to learn, nothing can stop you.” Thanks again Rachel!

Hey! I'm a first-year medical student too - but in Montreal, Canada (in French!)! Your videos have been very entertaining and motivating to me when I sometimes do not feel like studying at all, so thank you! I know it's cheesy to say and I know you are not showing us everything you are doing, but balance is important (the Faculty always likes to remind us that, but they are right!) Don't be scared to go out every once in awhile, or do not beat yourself up if you are sick and fell a little behind. We are medical students, yes, but also human beings lol! You are an exceptionally hard-working person and if you got in medical school, you are able to get through it! Can't wait to see what bright future is awaiting you :)

222 I've been following your channel for a while and you are such an inspiration. The time you take to explain the things you do in school is incredibly informing to a nervous undergrad and the fact that you're not afraid to show that it's a difficult journey and how your passion for your goal is one of the biggest driving forces to get through tough times. It's very encouraging to see other driven and determined (yet down-to-earth) women in medicine on youtube and seeing your journey so far has given me so much confidence for my own future.

Do you have any tips to how go by with 7 hours of sleep or less. I know it sounds stupid as many people are fine on 5/6 hours of sleep, but for some reason I'm not. Do you have any tips? 222 I've always learned to challenge myself to pull through tough material (education wise). I find not worrying about the time and slowing down to really understand and absorb the concepts and pathways truly helps. Better retention and application over time. I've drawn out pathways or traced over them which, helped me to internalize the information. You are and always will be a champion! Keep going woman! #bauswoman
