The hunter should check the laws on chopping trees on public land. In my state it’s illegal to chop down or trim a living tree on game lands.

Somethings you did not mention. Ammo, emergency signaling/survival stuff, fire starter, reading glasses if you are over 40yo, some paracord. I am Mike and live in Osage City, what's your name? Your videos seem to be timed to our hunts here, interesting---have some old-timer suggestion for you, this was my 52nd year waterfowling. Your idea of taping a hand warmer on the top of your feet is the BEST!

I also wear safety glasses when walking around in the dark! Nothing worse then catching a twig or blade of grass in the eye!

You mentioned knives and first aid kits. Love it. (Always have first aid). I want to add “styptic powder”. It’s cheap and it almost instantly stops bleeding, even with deep cuts if you have that kind of accident. It hurts but it’s better than bleeding for x amount of time. 👍

You list and smaller bag are for the guy who doesn't have dogs. I have to carry all that and then some...

If you don't have a dog try out an Avery decoy retriever. These are four feet long and extend up to 18 feet. I usually use the 12 foot model for retrieving ducks or decoys. It also helps you figure out how deep the water is where you are about to step (at non-extended length).

Some of that stuff I keep in the car like tp ass wipe extra boxs of shells. However I carry a 3lb hammer and sometimes a drill. Frozen ground and decoy stakes take some extra ump sometimes. I also take a garden cart its extra to cover up but on frozen ground hunts it saves trips to the car. If im injured past the point of needing a bandaid im going to the car anyway id rather be in good shape so I prefer not to try anything dangerous to get injured. Heating pads, extra reeds 3 boxes of shells, extra hats gloves face covers batteries for flappers coffee etc is in my blind bag. I try to carry camo covers and seat pads and chairs. With the decoys. I have folding metal card table chairs. Eh id rather be comfortable and make use of blinds with cover than try to build one on the fly if you need to build a blind you should go out the day before and do that because its alot of work and 2 its different applications of force. Getting out setting up decoys getting into a blind and setting up cover should be 20 mins tops then have some coffee etc. Wait till you can see color like red on your safety then load your gun and get on with hunting. If you can't see color your gun shouldn't be loaded cause you could be on fire. The purpose of having it set Up like this is it takes alot of energy to put on waders clothes put out decoys get set in the blind get flappers put together and out on poles and having extra gloves and hats to get wet ones or sweaty ones off is important if it is cold. Heaters are good to keep off frost bite. And grabbing your call and the guts fall out and loosing a reed or cork happens to everybody at some point. And then daylight hits and your flappers start to churn slow so you change the batteries, and then you go to shoot at a duck and your shell doesn't go off just change out what you were using change the box of shells the batteries, the reed cork etc. Your blind ends up having a big 4 foot hole in the landing strip where they can see your legs put a blind cover over it. All this stuff happens alot so being prepared to make a hunt work is the important part. Not having a bunch of building equipment and such although those things are handy sometimes your main focus should be on what makes the hunt work. Not what you could make the hunt into thats what you do when you're not hunting. Like going out and putting together a blind, or painting decoys, or making 8 foot poles for decoys. Etc. The hunt should be streamlined to do exactly that.

Second time ever duck hunting this season I stabbed myself with a SHARP pocket knife right in the palm of my hand and had nothing but electrical tape to wrap it. It was awful.

I can reccomend a first aid kit for each of your hunting bags. I used to have one that I moved between bags that was well supplied but then of course, I left it in my pheasant vest and went duck hunting w/o it. Of course, that was the one time my friend needs a band aid...
