Two things you missed: you can actually score in basketball mode if you throw without jumping. If a tie happens in swordplay duel, you can hit eachother in the tie screen

Did you know there’s another part of Island Flyover that’s an Easter egg? By pressing the 1 button, you’ll launch a flare into the air; this is used to track down Miguel’s Guide Plane. However, the sound of the flare is not original. It’s been used in other Nintendo IPs before. In _The Legend of Zelda: Majora’s Mask,_ the bubbles that Déku Link can shoot make that sound as they fly through the air. In _Super Mario Sunshine,_ go to Pinna Park and choose the mission, _The Beach Cannon’s Secret._ The Monty Mole in the cannon will fire Bullet Bills at Mario to ward him off. The Bullet Bills make this same sound as they fly. Anyone who’s played _Pikmin 2_ a decent amount has probably encountered the infamous Gatling Groink, a weird, mechanical creature that somewhat resembles a goldfish. This enemy is infamous for being able to fire mortars at the player and their Pikmin. The sound that the mortars make as they fly is this sound, though it is modified to oscillate in pitch and bend down in pitch over time.

the green circle is just a symbol in japan that has an identical meaning to the checkmark. because it's a much less culturally universal symbol than the checkmark, they changed it for the international releases. calling that an easter egg is a massive stretch

I used to visit my biological father’s house during weekends, and he had Wii Sports Resort. I hated him, so I played my favorite Wii Sports game, Island Flyover. I forgot how many i points there are in the game, but I got all of them, It took my child brain literal years though. Only highlight about seeing that man was getting all the i points tbh

and not even done with the video, but this is so interesting, i have the 2 in 1 copy and wonder if some of the stuff still works and because how little i got to play with it, i am not so familiar with the game (since i got it in 2021 or 2022 i think), even though i first owned my first wii (and literally my first console) in 2015 or 2016, its still a great console and i can get why its so great. i wish we still had the fun and experimental nintendo instead of the nintendo that releases a sports game that got updates (with more content) and wasnt even finished at launch, modern gaming is just updates and unfinished games

I’m sorta surprised that it wasn’t mentioned that in archery, if you happen to hit the tiny black dot exactly in the center of the target, it plays a unique sound effect. It doesn’t award any extra points however. I could be wrong on that last part but I’m just going by memory.

my favorite easter egg is in the free ride power cruising. watch for the whale to jump or flick its tail. if you follow that you can actually find the whale swimming in the water. it won’t jump or anything if you’re too close but still cool to watch it peacefully swim
