I hated that episode too. To be honest, what bugs me the most about it is *HOW* they screwed over M.A. Larson to fuck the critics. Not cool, guys. Not cool. Declining ratings should be met with tact and grace... *cue angry mob comment chain* *NOT* using your show as a battering ram against critics when you've had unlimited amounts of love and affection for like 9 seasons!

@@joshscorcher Fair enough. But I feel that people who felt offended by the portrayal of fans most likely exhibit many of the toxic behaviours shown in it. The episode essentially works as the showrunners holding a mirror to the fandom, reflecting on them. Some people didn't like what they saw. Then again, you're also the guy who likes "Honest Apple" over "A Flurry of Emotions" and "Newbie Dash" over "Do Princesses Dream of Magic Sheep?", so opinions are subjective, I guess.

If you're saying what I think you're saying... then I kinda agree. Some of these ratings don't add up with the episodes he's previously reviewed. I mean I guess that it's because "These opinions change overtime" but it still feels weird, especially if there's no note saying "Warning; Ratings of episodes may have changed as time went on so some episodes may not have been as good OR as bad as I remember" or something like that to prevent getting accused of "hypocrisy."

I think her job is a shelter worker. she takes her animals to an actual vet, some shelters don't always operate on animals so they take them to the local vet. Also take may the best pet win. Fluttershy was offering dash to have a pet to take care of. Sounds like adoption to me

I personally love Flurry Heart especially because, although there was some confusion of why she was born an alicorn, she is not treated as being the "chosen one" or something special. Yeah born alicorn, clearly has stronger magic fluxes than a baby unicorn, but she's still just treated as what she is, a baby and quite honestly, I just find her adorable and glad for the fact that the show made no real moves of showing that there was something special in store for her.

Flutter Brutter hit way to close to home for me when I watched it. It hit way to close to home for me since I used to act exactly like Zephyr for the longest time, and watching Flutter Brutter opened my eyes to how bad that kind of lifestyle was. I’m much better now, and I owe it all to that episode.

She has gotten more assertive in season 5, and she really shows she isn’t a pushover and is instead applying the lessons she learned to real situations. Zephyr is rarely treated like he’s right considering he was called out multiple times. I actually enjoyed the episode

I liked season 6 more or less as well, including the premier. While it wasn't anything super amazing and kinda an average season, alone there were still some good and fun episodes to be had. And I feel that the good does outweigh the bad in the end. Season 7 after it and most seasons before it clobber it in quality though, which may be the issue, I suppose. Alone it's a fine season, but compared to some of the seasons before it and even after, it doesn't hold up quite as well.

@@hariman7727 These people, are idiots with no idea how to actually critique or measure the quality of something, And I wouldn't say all other seasons blow 6 away. 5 and 7 did, but I'd rank it about the same as 8 and slightly ahead of 4 and 2, well ahead of 1 and 3. But yeah, it does feel, just rather average. While 6 didn't have any massive, epic highs like Slice of Life, Amending Fences, Perfect Pair, or Royal Problem, it also didn't have any massive bombs like Princess Spike, Fame and Misfurtune, MMDW, PYHD, etc...

5 best- Yeah, I freaking loved this, pretty much second best Christmas Carol take. (How can you top the Muppets?) I do not get people who were pissed and hated it, just based on it doing the CC story. 4 Worst- Eh, yeah it could have done some things WAY better, but still worked overall. I don't really get the 'continuity flaws'. The last time most of these ponies saw Trixie she was a meglomanicial crazy-mare ruling them with an insane iron hoof. As to Twilight having forgiven her, doesn't mean she has to like her, and Trixie's personality just rubs Twilight the wrong way. Some people just clash like that. That said, yeah, the Celestia writing was just... bad. So should have had that last cut to her and the other three shown them just partying down and having a great time without Twilight. 3 best- Yes, this is how you have some fun with your fans! Not..... well you'll get to that. 2 Worst- I get the impression you don't like Flurry Heart. Awww but she's so adorable! Still, eh, yeah lot of 'just go with it' in that ep. Though they DID explicitly explain that last one. Cadance wasn't using her power to hold back the snow, just Sombra, the snow wasn't an issue because the Heart was still intact and in the city. Worst..... yup it's just plain freaking horrible. Even beyond the mean spirited jabs and horrible messaging. I just loathe it for being a really, really, really bad story that makes no damn sense at all from a purely watsonian POV. On the plus side, Daring Done? seems to have retconed that thing away, given there was no mention to how Twilight blabbed her secret about being real to all of Equestria. Also, you know, that these events are never mentioned again dispite how huge things were without ever being addressed. Best.... well, yeah, why the hell would anyone rant about someone placing the best ep of the show as, the best ep? Doubt we'll see the real story of them dying, but a few remarks from some writers have been pretty consistent with the general agreement around the writing table is they were killed by Timber Wolves.

What did you expect out of flurry of emotions flurry heart is a baby we can't learn anything else about her besides the enforcing the fact that she's a BABY, and with Cadence and Shining Armor they're just trying to have a calm day just to themselves looking at art made by an old friend of shining's, this episode was just supposed to be cute and it succeeded at that

Flurry wasn't the problem for me, it was Twilight in this episode because as soon as she said she'd watch the baby I knew where the episode would go. I couldn't believe she'd take a baby to where sick foals were. YOU DON'T DO THAT! Plus I was not happy with Cadence and Shining for springing Flurry on Twilight at the last minute. Having been around kids of all ages and being old enough to remember my youngest brother being a baby, you always have to call a head of time if you need help, UNLESS it's an emergency.

Eh, the hospital thing could be worked around, but needed explaining. This could be a condition that's only communicable in the early stages, and the foals were in the 'no longer contagious, but still need to recover from it' stage. Or, alicorns are immune to disease, or, just magic of some kind or other. Cadance and Shiny, yes, they should have, but first time parents that are too stressed and exhausted to be thinking straight, I can see it happening. And they did admit they screwed up by doing that, so points there.

I think it's mainly the clumsy set-up. In the TV series and comics prior it's established that alicorns are made, not born. Applejack even says so when they all see Flurry's wings, and the princesses merely say "It's beyond our understanding". Yet nopony asked the obvious, "What about YOU two?" Were Celestia and Luna born to alicorn parents, or did they come into it like Cadence and Twilight? Plus it kind of undermines the idea of "earning" alicornhood, which is how Twilight getting her wings was justified. Also, with everyone going on about unusual Flurryheart is, I believe some of us were wondering if she'd have a greater part to play in the story arc, like she'd be a child of prophecy or something like that. But nope, so far she's just a cute, dangerously destructive baby.

Now I put Honest Apple as my worst of S7, but my biggest gripe wasn't AJ, but Rarity and the others because as an artist and someone who had to learn how to give critiques in college, Rarity and the others performance pissed me off. It's no wonder AJ was getting frustrated because they were all speaking hogwash at times! I will admit though AJ did make a big mistake in destroying that hat. I literally had to look away at the part.

I've been holding this in for a long time, so I just want to say, very clearly, what I think about Flurryheart: I. Don't. CARE. To be clear, I don't have a problem with the character, and I don't understand why Bronies get so angry about her. The fact that she's barely in the show means any problems I would have aren't worth devoting mental energy to, and honestly, I think she does what she needs to do as a character. She's cute, her antics are pretty funny, and her status as an Alicorn raises interesting questions that I'm fine with the show not answering, because that's not what this show is about, but which are fun to think about nonetheless. BTW, "I don't care, and I don't understand why people are angry about this," is a very familiar sentiment to me as a Star Wars fan who likes the prequels and thinks that Han not shooting first actually made that scene better.

I was 15 or 16 when she was announced as a new character and at the time I just thought “oh hey Cadence and Shining are gonna be parents now. Now here I’m saying you can only be an Alicorn if you have AA, and if you know anything about genetics, this would result in a 50% chance of Flurry Heart being an Alicorn. It’s not messing up the lore.

One thing I hate about the list (aside from having fame and misfortune at number one worst just because it explains how damaging someone like you Josh can effect people's enjoyment on the show sometimes) is the fact that you hate Flurry Heart. Not saying it's not okay to dislike a character, but you complained about the twins just being crybabies, yet then proceed complaining about Flurry having more emotions. Plus hating a character just because they revealed something such as non born alicorns before her just feels like a wrong way to judge a character. It's the lore, not herself. Sorry Josh, you are amazing, but I feel like sometimes you hate stuff just because they present something you don't want to accept.

I wonder if anyone would get the reason why Flurryheart was born an alicorn is because of genetics. Obviously Alicorn genes would be more dominant than unicorn genes. And I'm guessing Shining was the only pony to ever knock up an Alicorn hence why Celestia and Luna don't know about it. Eventhough this just raises more questions about Alicorns.

I wish I could do a collab with Josh to explain my reasons for actually liking the episode Fame and Misfortune, but I sadly don’t have the recording software, proper microphone, or anything to achieve that. Clearly Fame and Misfortune isn’t a perfect episode, Hasbro got in the way of the writer to push their agenda and it shows. Despite all that, Fame and Misfortune is a good episode in my opinion. The lesson behind it, is not that the fandom is a bunch of nitpicking suckers. The goal of this episode was to explain that some of us (not all of us) are missing the point, and rather than looking at the lessons presented by the episodes we look at other things. As I writer, I appreciate that, however criticism is necessary for success, I wouldn’t be doing the stuff I do so well, without honest and sometimes blunt criticism. If I was to place this episode on a list, it would land a 7/10. If you made it this far into this comment, thank you for reading.

Why wouldn't flurry jeart be an alicorn her mom is an alicorn. There isn't any information to contradict that. I mean as far as we know luna and celestia don't have kids and foal unicorns do have more raw magic then adult ponies.

It was probably a different design choice - To make it easier to make the character show complex emotions and inspire 'aww' empathy from viewers. Normal foal character models are a bit too uncanny valley for that.

5:19 an idea i have always had for a flurry heart episode could be a day in the crystal empire. the focus can be on flurry heart sunburst and if you want to be ballsy flash sentry. perhaps at some point cadence orders F. S. to be in charge of protecting flurry heart and sunburst like a body guard, this can allow a friendship to be formed between sunburst and F. S.,and while sunburst is in charge of teaching flurryheart how to use magic productively and unicorn etiquette flash sentry can indirectly at first teach flurry heart how to better fly and Pegasus etiquette and we can get deeper into flash as a character. see how he was able to start from a guard in canterlot to a bodyguard of the princess of the crystal empire because i would bet it would have something to do with shining armor when he was training to be a guard himself and thus this small seed of potential interaction could lead to how flash sentry got his position.

I like the season seven finale because it basically ended the debate of is Equestria Girls cannon or not. And it is. And that means all of Sunset Shimmer’s stories is 100% cannon! That means the story includes Sunset Shimmer’s fall comic and the dispised Anon-a-Miss comic. I was laughing at the reveal of the dazzling in the season finale which basically confirmed my theory that Sunset transformation into daydream Shimmer was because of a weaken friendship

Not really, since the comics are still officially non-canon. Plus, Anon-a-miss just plain.... does not work and renders itself non-canon just with it's own details. Specifically Sunset claiming that was her first sleepover with the others, yet this explicitly taking place after Rainbow Rocks, where she had a sleepover with the girls.

The pillars included Starswirl. and Starswirl was the most episodes. Starswirl episodes includeseason 2 episode 4 Luna Eclipsed season 3 magical mystery cure. season 4 Twilight's kingdom, season 2 episode 20 it's about time, season 4 episode 11 Three's a crowd. season 5 finale and the season 7 finale. mage meadowbrook only got 2 episodes three with the season finale. and the others only got 1 1/2 2 1/2 including the finale.it never said if starswirl did it alone. remember season 4 just by touching the horn of a unicorn casting a spell will shut it off. Rarity showed that. three vs 1 no match. but the proof you want is their eyes. and kasumi Evan was credited. who does she voice? Luna and Adigo. anf Rarity's singing voice. and who was singing in the flashback? the sirens!so it is Equestria girls is cannon and it always has been and will be. Starlight glimmer is also proof otherwise sunset wouldn't make the connection.

@Long-Tailed Charmander I have no issue with Flurry's behavior at the hospital. But there are scenes where she seems to understand spoken language and the situations happening around her. Like he said, there are scenes where she's written as a genius for her age, but then other scenes where she acts like what you would expect from a 2-year-old. But in the end, personally, this doesn't bother me much. It doesn't break my sense of disbelief.

S6 is also one of my least favorite seasons. In fact, it's my second least favorite, after S3. There were just a lot of mediocre episodes in it, especially the S6 premiere. And as for Fame and Misfortune, well, I am in the camp who actually liked the episode well enough. The episode could have been handled better, but I think many of the points they made were warranted. And I also loved Top Bolt and No Second Prances. On the flipside, I hate Newbie Dash, unlike you. But then again, you're probably well aware of how controversial that episode is.

At first it bothered me a bit that you were so harsh on season 6. But after the recap, I realised that the main reason I DO like that season its because the episodes I DID like, I really liked. Still, harsh reviews for this show (no matter from who) are a bit awkward to me. Not necesarily because I disagree, but because even the episodes I dislike, I dont hate. I dont know. Maybe Im to permissive. Anyway, looking forward to the Season 8 review.
