Great comparison. I just recorded my first test with my VM30. I, too, have the Rode NTG5. Personally, I am impressed with the sound out of the VM30. I didn't even do anything to it in post, and it still sounds great. I am very happy with my purchase. The VM30 is a huge addition to my sound equipment.

If you would do anything in post, what would you do?

Yes I do remember those commercials. Thanks for the informative video. I'll figure out a reason why I need one. 😊😊

If you dont mind rigging & have a wireless the vm20 is the same mic capsule but $70 less. It's just shorter cause no built in transmitter.

A better solution for me is the Zoom M3 Mictrak. It records internally in 32 bit float which means there is literally nothing u need to do except press record. If u want to boom it, you will need to run a long thin 3.5mm cable to your camera, but most of the time I leave it mounted on camera. You will have to sync in post but that takes 2sec. The biggest benefit is that it’s actually a mid-side microphone so u can reshape the stereo field in post to your personal taste.

Can you do a video on how to clean up the audio please or direct me somewhere to learn how to do that. I’m poor and trying my best lol. This mic might save alot of my problems I run into

Man your voice and the way you talk you should make video contents like Johnny Harris or somewhat similar story telling stuff.

How would you connect the wireless rx to the zoom? Could you make a video on that setup?

Greetings! I choose a microphone for my phone, for recording a musical instrument, I stopped at the rode videomic go ii and comica vm10 pro. The distance at which the recordings will be made will not always be close. What would you recommend? Is it worth overpaying for Rode?)

I’m so upset I have to return mine because something is loose in it and you can hear it moving around in the recorded audio. I hope the new one doesn’t have the same issue

I bought this and I think its great. But. It is so sensitive for sounds when you are touching it. Its nuts. Plus my breathing sounds. If you did a tutorial on how to use it that would be great.

This might sound dumb but Im looking for some advice. Im running a Sony a6000 and would like to make vlogs but the camera does not have a headphone jack. recently saw this guy used for 100 usd. Im not sure about how wireless microphones work, does this mic allow the audio to be stored in the receiver and later extracted by connecting to a pc? ive been running my a6000 with a phone and a cheap lav/shotgun but I feel that having a wireless setup is makes the setup easier, looks cleaner and more professional lmao

I think the Sony ecm mics work with the a6000. And DJI mic 2 has a new hot show mount

Is it possible to connect a microphone to the dji drone apparatus. I would like to record the sound of a football field?
@kylemeshna Жыл бұрын
You want to connect it to the drone itself? No that would just sound like a buzzing drone. You’re better off recording the sound from the ground
@Danimarcano Жыл бұрын
definitely do not do that. The noise of the drone it will be a huge problem for you

If I understand correctly, the VideoMic NTG (which sounds similar to my ears to the NTG5) connected to a Wireless Go will sound better than this mic? -- however of course the convenience of this mic is better?
@kylemeshna Жыл бұрын
I’d say that’s correct. The setup you described is also about $550 vs this one’s $189
@DigiDriftZone Жыл бұрын
@@kylemeshna Yes. Except if say you tweak it slightly and use the original Rode Wireless Go1 (£75) and VideoMic GO II (£75) to get equal (or maybe slightly better) audio and more flexibility for £150 vs £180 for this mic. But it's still a great option and great review, thank you :)
