The reboot has it's flaws sure, but it certainly does not belong beneath the likes of Jason X and Manhattan, God no. Jason's appearance, the soundtrack, the gore etc. All great factors to a Friday the 13th movie which IMO meets the memo.

The Army Of Defaults: I agree! Chris was a better “Final Girl”. Idk what it is about Ginny but I’ve always felt she was way overrated as a “Final Girl”. She didn’t do anything but run around the camp and hide in different places. Not until the very end did she finally chop him with the machete; whereas Chris stabbed him in the hand and the knee then hanged him, all before she hit him with an ax in the head!

Friday the 13th Part 4 was my favorite for the longest time. However, more recently my former second favorite, part 2 has taken over the top spot as my favorite Friday the 13th film. I just love it's downright grittiness & Jason seems more like an actual flesh and blood psycho who became like a wild animal after the death of his mother who is only hell bent on murder. The fact that he is treated like this Bigfoot Boogeyman like they're not even sure if he's real or a myth, yet he has a shack that he lives in like an animal made him the most terrifying version of all the movies in my opinion. Of course it has hands down thee best jump scare in the franchise with an unmasked hideous Jason crashes through the window & attacks Ginny after the cute little doggie shows up at the front door lol

My personal list: 1. Final chapter - great and iconic kills, slightly more developed and sympathetic characters, Tommy Jarvis introduced, nice solid plot 2. Jason lives - interesting plot with inclusion of actual kids at camp, sympathetic and likeable characters, self-aware and intelligent humour, nice soundtrack 3. Original - very iconic kills, characters dry but still fairly likeable, Pamela Vorhees as killer very interesting revelation, Alice as a likeable final girl 4. Part 2 - solid sequel with lots of iconic kills, plot still similar to original, some likeable and sympathetic characters, Ginny as best final girl imo 5. Part 3 - iconic and creative kills, some sympathetic and likeable characters, nice use of 3D effects for death scenes, bland and generic plot however 6. Part 7 - watered down and boring kills, boring trope characters, Tina as interesting final girl, climatic fight with Jason impressive, iconic sleeping bag kill, best looking Jason imo 7. Part 5 - largely boring and bland plot, watered down kills, some funny characters, nice soundtrack, characters incredibly bland, sleazy nudity, fake jason 8. Reboot - incredibly superficial and dislikeable characters, sleazy nudity, plot uninteresting and largely boring, some cool kills, nice special effects 9. Freddy vs Jason - film garbage with exception of 20 minutes at end (only real redeeming feature), very superficial characters and messy plot, great special effects 10. Jason X - shows how bad the franchise had sunk by putting Jason in space, ridiculous and embarassing plot, can appreciate self-aware humour though 11. Pt 5 was the best because it had a high number of kills and likeable characters. It also did a very interesting story with Tommy being hunted by Jason seeing holusilitaions and dealing with trauma. Let's not forget the awesome chainsaw duel vs the machete. Pure badass. My The 2nd fav is pt7 seeing Jason vs carry was really cool and he just looked savage. Beautiful makeup

I actually enjoyed part 5, i know that Jason wasn’t in it, but it was pretty interesting having a person dress up as him to be a killer. And I loved the ending characters. But part 2, 4, and 6 are probably my favorite.

The 2009 is the worst??? Ya fucking right. Your argument is that it took away Jasons supernatural powers. He didn’t receive supernatural powers until the sixth film in the original series. He was also so much more realistic with his sprinting and such. It made you feel a lot more vulnerable if you were in the situation, making it much more scary. Maybe we didn't really need the reboot, but I thought the characterization of Jason as a clever, sadistic survivalist was a good idea, and the guy playing him sold it. It could have been another instance where Jason thoughtlessly wanders around randomly killing random people for no apparent reason, but they actually put some thought into making him a bit different, and it was interesting.

The worst in my opinion is Part 9 because it only had like 15 minutes of Jason the whole film. The best is either Part 7 because Kane Hodder is in it, The Reboot, and Part 3 since that's when he got his iconic mask.
