Love the setup my guy, I do the opposite where I split the PS5 HDMI between the main TV and a monitor that's set up to the side. That way my wife can watch on the big TV and I can game on a smaller G-story monitor. And I can play on the main TV when she's not around. MinimailsTech your set up has given me a few ideas. I'm looking into a setup like this but with a 4k 60 hdtv and 1080p 144hz monitor but was told that my 4k hdtv would be locked to the lowest available resolution which is my 1080p monitor when using a hdmi 2.0 splitter. I guess it would be no problems with both output sources being 4k or 1080p.

@LC Jammer if your gaming in 1080p. Shoot for a higher hz monitor. 144hz can be pushed easily in 1440p. Go higher my guy

Very interesting how you combined both a PC and console setup in one. I have separated designated spaces and reserved my 58 inch 4k TV with HDR for my consoles and have a dual monitor setup for my PC. I hope to actually get a new monitor since I'll be putting my 32' inch ultra wide for sale to get a slightly larger and more powerful one and upgrade my GPU from my Geforce RTX 2060 which isn't too bad.

Usually, I could recommend you use the 3.5 jack on the monitor. BUT, using its usb-a you can attach an audio DAC to connect good qual speakers or wired headphones as well

that looks awesome. Not sure I followed all that. You switch your monitor to the USB-C port then physically plug the cable in whichever laptop you want to use at that time, the 2 HDMI are 1 for PS5 and 1 for the HDMI switch to the xbox and Nintendo and the display port is for your rig, right? And uhm...the kvm lets your control whatever is in either the USB-C and display port? haha wow that's something else lol...just awesome. What if you had another computer instead of console in one of the HDMI ports. Would the KVM also allow you to control that computer?

Does your xbox series s detect the mouse and keyboard through the KVM? I'm looking to hook up my laptop and xbox to a single monitor. Most of my gaming will be on the xbox and there are games there I'd like to play with the keyboard and mouse.

Nope! Unfortunately the Xbox only hooks through hdmi which doesn’t carry the signals outside of video/audio. You would need to use something like gamesirs aimbox 2. I reviewed one of those before which worked well. kzbin.info/www/bejne/fITSaYFqedt2brc
