I imagined Petal Dance as a move that confuses the user because the "dance" in question consists of a lot of spinning- thus making the user dizzy and confused.

I always assumed Petal Dance made the user confused after a while because the dance involved lots of spinning, and the user gets dizzy after doing it for a few turns.

It's the physical effort of thrashing and spinning about and the exhaustion that follows that LEAVES them dazed afterwards. Puns aside, it's basically the same reason Thrash and Outrage leave the user confused after a few turns of it.

When I first heard of the move "snap trap" I would have never guess it would be the signature move for Galarian Stunfisk. It would makes better sense to give it to Carnivine cause it's a Venus fly trap and it's a grass type Pokémon.
@JulianimeIsAmazing
@JulianimeIsAmazing 3 жыл бұрын
Another good reason for Snap Trap being Grass Type involves Galarian Stunfisk's Ability that changes its type based on the terrain. So in Grassy Terrain, for example, a perfect location to hide a trap within a grassy overgrow where you wouldn't be able to see it, the now Grass Type Stunfisk would be using its signature move with STAB to its full advantage, as, you yourself have clarified that not every steel type is literally made of steel, Galarian Stunfisk's trap teeth are clearly just as hard as steel, but more akin to horns, thorns, teeth, claws, or other possible sharp animal protrusions, and being charged with all sorts of magical Grass Energy it draws the full power from being Grass Type.

Actually, petals and flowers are modified leaves. Plants do that to attract insects and have them impollinate other flowers. Is super cool especially when talking about sunflowers, since the dark part on the inside are actually tiny flowers, while the "petals" are just modified flowers to make the plant look beautiful and, again, attract insects. I'd love to see a sunflower pokemon made by little plant entities making the flower :)

I guess snap trap is part of a reference for carnivorous plants (hence why Carnivine and Victreebell would be perfect fits). Fun fact, when a Venus fly-trap closes it's mouth it doesn't open til it's prey is consumed and that takes a lot of time so if you guys have one don't force them to do that (because it will harm your plant and it can die)

Ooh, fun story about Frenzy/Hard Plant. There's an English card (think it was a Venusaur) which lists the move as Hard Plant instead of giving it the English name. When I was younger, I liked imagining what some Pokemon card moves would be like in the main series, and, not knowing it was already a real move, I came up with "inflicts damage, then raises the user's defense".

@@mettatonsagent7541 Doesn't take that much strength or skill. I climbed rock walls since I was like 8. It's a pretty "normal" activity. Doesn't mean everyone does it, but it doesn't require any special, hard to learn skills to accomplish. It's literally just climbing up rocks. And fighting type is generally more advance, and specialized. Usually like special fighting techniques, that takes years to master, not a generic skill like climbing. There are of course exceptions, but that's what it has always felt like to me. EDIT: Also...being normal type doesn't mean that a move doesn't require strength or skill. I mean...singing is a normal thing...but it takes skillet be good at it. And there is literally a move named Strength...soo yeah, lol. It's Normal, cause there's no "special" skill that you need to be born with, or train in order to accomplish said skill.

Following on from the signature moves vid previously. I know you touched on it but I'd like to see one explaining each signature move in each generation and what each pokemon did (before other pokes got them). For example Beedrills twin needle and Kadabras kinesis. Or maybe signature abilities (non hidden)? I'm sure there are some unique ones like tangled feet on Spinda

When you were talking about petal dance,you said that the confusion part comes from the pokemon being confused as to why it is being asked to scatter petals everywhere,but the game literally says "your pokemon became confused DUE TO FATIGUE!" And dancing can be tiering so you really overlooked that OBVIOUS DETAIL!

Petal Dance seems to have 2 interpretations depending on if it's the games or the anime: Games (the user gets confused) - The user is dancing and spinning around in order to launch the petals so after doing that for so many turns they get dizzy and confused. Anime (the Pokemon hit by the attack often gets confused, never the user) - It seems like they are going for the fact that all the petals swirling around makes the target confused.
