"Whatsername" is one of Green Day's best songs, single or non-single. It's starts out slow and soft and by the middle it's screaming at you to remember the mistakes you made and remember the people you miss. It's so fucking good.

I don’t know what album got me into Green Day tbh, but I’m pretty sure East Jesus Nowhere was the first song I remember hearing by them when I was younger, and I just instantly loved it. I just remember loving the riff for some reason, and then ever since then I slowly but surely got more and more into Green Day over the years. The journey has been quite something I must say

American Idiot, in my opinion, is the greatest album ever written. Its sociopolitical and socioeconomic commentary are genius; its rhymes, flow, instrumental utilization, and sound are feel good and iconic; the sheer memorability, emotion, angst, and nostalgia captured in it; and it's overall cultural and musical impact is unparalleled and severely underrated. It's both a complex album and a simple one, and for that reason anyone who likes rock, let alone music, can enjoy this masterpiece. I've probably listened to the album literally hundreds times and I never get enough of it. Their other albums are good and I mash the replay buttons in those songs too, but this is a gem I hold dear to my soul. I daresay this album made my generation who we are; I know it transformed me, certainly. Our lives were impacted by this album comparably to the way Abbey Road was on older generations. I could gush praise and love for this album for days in end, but the only true way to do that is by listening to it again and again and again.

I think American Idiot album is the album that introduced a lot of people to Green Day , it certainly was for me but I than I started to love their older stuff also. Personally , I think 21st Century Breakdown should have been slightly higher, likewise, I would have put Ninrod at rank 3 and Dookie at rank 2 , but thats opinions. Green Day are my favorite ever band I will be seeing them for the 4th time in July 2017 !

Than The Drummer, Nah, Fire, Ready, Aim was a decent song also, but yeah, Revolution Radio was a good comeback album from the boys, after the disappointing trilogy, (although ¡Tré! was decent), but look man, I think the boys have been around long enough now to have a multigenerational fan base, as someone else said. Imo though, American Idiot was their last truly great album, but 21st Century Breakdown was one that took time to grow on me, and now I like it a lot.

My list: 13) ¡Tré! It has 99 Revolutions, my favorite track from the trilogy, but most of the songs are really forgettable. Songs that I like from this record: 99 Revolutions, Dirty Rotten Bastards. 12) ¡Uno! It has some good tracks at the beginning, but it gets worse song by song. Songs that I like from this record: Nuclear Family, Stay the Night, Kill the DJ. 11) ¡Dos! It sounds ok. It has good and bad songs all over it. That's how an album's tracklist should look like: put the good tracks next to each other and fill up the empty space with worse ones. Songs that I like from this record: Wild One, Stray Heart, Stop When the Red Lights Flash, Makeout Party. 10) Warning I just find this album boring. There are some catchy songs, like Misery and Blood, Sex and Booze, but most of them are not varied. Most of the tracks are unreasonably long, and they have only one main riff and nothing else. Songs that I like from this record: Warning, Minority, Waiting. 9) 21st Century Breakdown: It sounds better than Warning, but it's just too boring for me, too. I understand the meaning of this album, but I prefer the fast-paced side of Green Day. It has fast and slow songs all over it. Some of them are boring, some of them are catchy, but they don't get the attention they deserve. I'm just not the target audience of his album. Songs that I like from this record: East Jesus Nowhere, Horseshoes and Handgrenades. 9) Kerplunk I actually like this album. Most of the songs are forgettable, some of them don't sound good, but it has some masterpieces on it. Songs that I like from this record: 2000 Light Years Away, 80, Who Wrote Holden Caulfield?, Christie Road. 7) Father Of All... Don't worry, I can explain it. I know it's just a joke album for the people who said that rock is dead, but it still has some good songs on it. The entire album is catchy on its own way. Some of the tracks got recycled from the trilogy, but they used them very well. Songs that I like from this record: Stab You in the Heart (Best Elvis cover ever. It's better than the original.), Sugar Youth, Take the Money and Crawl. 6) 1,039/Smoothed Out Slappy Hours Yes, I picked the compilation album, because C'mon, this is better. When I sat down to listen the entire album, I didn't have the "When will this song finally end?" feeling. Some of the songs sound almost the same, so I picked those ones that are different from each other. Songs that I like from this record: At the Library, Paper Lanterns, Knowledge (Better than the original.), 16, Green Day, Going to Pasalacqua, Disappearing Boy, I Was There. 5) Insomniac My only problem with this album is that all songs sound the same. Some track deserve more attention than the others. Songs that I like from this record: Armatage Shanks, Stuck With Me, Stuart and the Ave., No Pride, 86, Geek Stink Breath, Walking Contradiction. (No, I don't like Brain Stew. I get the meaning, but I find it annoying.) 4) Revolution Radio It has some strong and some weak tracks, too. It was their great comeback, so they put lots of different things on it. Songs that I like from this record: Bang Bang, Revolution Radio, Say Goodbye, Youngblood. 3) Dookie A great album. Some of the songs sound the same, but most of them are varied. There are a few track we didn't need, but they aren't awful, so I'll only mention my favorite ones. My favorites from this record: Basket Case, She, When I Come Around, Sassafras Roots, Longview, Welcome to Paradise, Burnout, Having a Blast. 2) Nimrod. I think we didn't need 18 tracks. (There are 22 of them if we count the bonus tracks and the B-sides.) Most of them sound better than Dookie's tracks, but the weaker songs make it a littlebit worse. My favorites from this record: Hitchin' a Ride, Nice Guys Finish Last, Scattered, Uptight, Last Ride In, Jinx, Haushinka, Prosthetic Head. 1) American Idiot There aren't any bad songs on it. They are varied, I like how they used the 2 in 1 tracks, it has a great replay factor. I think Whatsername is the weakest song on it. My favorites from this record: Holiday, Boulevard of Broken Dreams, American Idiot, St. Jimmy, She's a Rebel, Letterbomb, Shoplifter, Governator.

@@gabeaddisonmusic Exactly! It’s not uncommon for a bands first album to end up being their best material when it’s all said and done. Personally 1039/Smoothed is my second favourite Green Day album, behind Insomniac, but it perplexes me how many people can’t see it’s masterpiece man. I know it was their debut album and all, but that shouldn’t be an excuse for the newer generation Green Day fans not to give it a chance. Good music is good music, and most of Green Day’s best material is insanely underrated and unknown.
