From my memory at least, companies going DOA/being under embargo on their big projects is not a new thing; things like the recent shut down projects that we know (Bully 2, for example) give a great reason why, it’s better to create hype for projects when they’re close enough to being done instead of becoming the next Half Life 3. Think about everything that hindered production in those ten years as well: five years between GTA V and RDR2, there’s also Online for both games (love it or hate it), then COVID happened in 2020 and forced the developers back home, and then the strikes happened last year. Only now are they bringing devs back into crunch time, likely because of these leaks. I actually have no doubt that the original 2021 release that was mentioned in the video could have been true at the time, but then everything else happened. Delays are also common with GTA, the last two games saw a game that was about a year after its intended release. This could also be why we just have a year so far, we’re being told 2025, but it’s completely possible we could see GTA 6 release at the same time as the World Cup. Idk I’m sorry that your comment is the one to get this huge paragraph but I don’t see why everyone are so worked up over a process we’ve all been through we’ve done 5~7 times before lol it just seems like nothing imo

Just a brief clarification at 7:57. The leaked clips aren't from late 2019, they are from 2021 all the way to September 2022, just mere days before the leak. I believe people thought this was from a way earlier build due to the graphics, but you gottta understand, when you are making a game you turn off all of the graphical settings so it doesn't interfere with testing other aspects of the game.

It feels like Rockstar is walking on very thin ice with the GTA series. Everyone is used to that Rockstar is the most powerful game company, but after the release of GTA 5 they lost half of their power: they fired important people and went hard to GTA Online, because of which GTA 5 did not come out story DLC. Rockstar's advertising campaign is also bad and partly because of this people who are hungry for information about this game start digging and start leaking all the information they have. If it wasn't for Rockstar's "policy" GTA 6 would have already been released in 2022 as they intended it to be

youtube has had the same security backdoor for years where hackers can monitor and see when uploaded content that is scheduled to be released. so they just picked the trailer from rockstars youtube account that was suppose to go live some time after. this is the same type of hack that amazon holes has where when you order something from amazon, then you probably get the text scam to your phone saying your package is ready for pickup for you have to click the link to confirm or similar. so amazon has had this hole for years.

Some guy on Reddit or Twitter leaked like 90% leaks and more before 2018 (I forget name but some guy made video about that)

For those unaware, The Know's Project America's video *was* right as of release in 2018. The game was set to take place in Vice City, bits of South America (likely Colombia or Brazil), and parts of the Caribbean, as well as was set for a 2020/2021 release date. However, in late 2019 and early 2020, Dan Houser (one of the founding members) left Rockstar, and GTA6 went through a story reboot. It was changed from a Narcos-inspired 80's Cartel game to a modern day one, reduced to just Leonida and possibly bits of whatever the GTA version of Georgia and Alabama are. But before the reboot, the 2020/2021 release window was the original window, and the GTA6 we were originally gonna get would've been announced at that first PS5 showcase in early 2020

I hate leakers! They are like that one friend who gives you spoilers for every movie or tv series you are watching or about to watch. This is so lame. Luckily, i manage to stay more or less away from all leaks and enjoy the process of waiting for official news from Rockstarts and garhering their peaces and keep being amazed and excited for the release date for PC.
