Why am I not surprised 🙃😊? She is a doll and I could tell Blake was smitten when he went on that last ride on her. I have had mixed feelings about Arabs myself, but the brothers I mentioned before were both such good boys. 👍I've been blessed to have experiences with many different breeds and have come to the conclusion there are good and better in every breed. Just LOVE HORSES 🐎😍! Thanks for telling their stories- especially Rawhide's. And thanks for the compassion you show horses who really need ❤ you.

I never knew Rawhide was blind in one eye or treated so badly by uncaring people. You would think if it was a cataract, vets could sedate and zap a cataract off, but it may be something else. Rawhide is certainly a special horse to function so well with only half his vision. Thank you all for helping so many. 💕

My aunt owned a Bar/Hotel/Restaurant in upstate NY. A gentleman that lived down the way would come in on his horse, he would order two beers. I would take the two beer bottles out to his horses. This was the horses treat. He only ride the horses as his wife knew he would be to drink to drive and the horses would take him home when my dad and Aunt unhooked the horses from the hitching post. I was ages 2-6 at this time. My main job was to wash glasses and clean the ladies bathroom

Interesting that Blake brought up the horse in water. Brought me a memory. Native Americans years ago used to break horses in water, because they wouldn't get hurt if thrown or maybe they were a little easier to manage. FYI the Native Americans viewed the horse as a sanctified blessing that should be protected at all times.

I used to ride a Arab mare that a was blind. Trail rides and penned back at the sale barn. She was wonderful. That little Arab mare you have is wonderful! She is in great shape. Has had training out of this world! I wouldn't get rid of her for anything. Unless you of course sent her to my house! Your son has an amazing relationship with Rawhide. All depends on how much they do together and how he's treated. He has over come being blind in one eye. He's not dumb.

Gosh Alen, thank you so much for sharing the stories on these horses. Your so right, every horse does have a story. I've owned horses all my life cause like you guys, I love them. One thing people need to no....All horses are for sale. I love the fact that your family steps in where there's a horse in need and you help them to find a loving home. And there's always going to be a "special" horse that you bond with, in the case of Rawhide with Blake. Duchess is an all around great horse because she's safe for anyone to ride. Now there's Candy 😃 at first you probably thought she was crazy 🤣 Arabs are very different than say quarter horses. There not near as laid back as a qh. Now I bred, raised, and showed black and white quarter horses, but my everyday riding horse was an Arab. Now I had a polish Arabian, they're built more like a qh. There thicker and not as "fine boned" as other Arabians . Candy looks like she's more of an Egyptian Arabian. She has the big dish in her nose, face, and very prancy, and flashy. Arabians can go go go all day, that's why most endurance riders use Arabians, that can cover a lot of ground....and yes they're a blast to ride. I know y'all love all horses, but there's always going to be ones that simply touch your heart and you bond with more than others. I love what you guys do, save the ones you can and re-home them, and keep the ones you've bonded with ❤️. At least none of them are going to slaughter. So thank you Palmer family for helping all the horses you've helped ✨. Blessings to all 🙌 Jennifer

You really have a jewel in your little Arabian mare. The Arabians have existed since the beginning of time and were brought up in the same tent as their Bedouin masters. The were treated like we treat our cats and dogs and when they find someone who they bond with, they will read your mind and are absolutely dedicated to pleasing you..I have had many horses in my lifetime but my last little Arab mare completely stole my heart. I love these stories because it teaches people you don't need a fancy pedigree to get a good animal. I would love to get a horse one day like that but given I don't own land and can't do it the same way you do it, I thin its harder to get a chance to find horses you bond with. I am guessing your son has met 10+ horses to have a chance got see which ones he likes so that is a beautiful situation you have created for yourself and your family to be able to find "the good ones". right now I lease a very nice horse. I want to buy one but I get very apprehensive to try to pick one off of meeting them once.

Running a rescue personally can be complicated. Even if you are not interested in being non-profit you might get some good ideas from getting acquainted with Horse Plus, full circle of life horse rescue. They have checks and balances in place to ensure the horses go to good homes but can be returned if things go wrong. They take surrenders. They have furnished grants to a Native American Reservation in Arizona for gelding, vet work etc. Been in business 20 yrs and have just finished a vet barn and have a fulltime vet on board. They are not limited to horses......their mentoring program is terrific. Located in Tennessee. They get a lot of blind horses in thru auction and do not really have a lot of problems finding them homes.

I am so glad you are keeping Candy! A good minded Arab is hard to beat! I have a coming 28 yr old Arab that anyone can ride, I retired him because I can't keep three ridden and he deserves a life of leisure. He was hard to get on like Candy when I first got him, turned out it was a pinching saddle that twisted his withers when someone stepped into the saddle. So I fixed the saddle issue and he stands like a champ. God Bless you!

Next time you need a cleaner looking saddle blanket, you can take them to the local laundry mat and wash it in the Big Boy washing machines. They just bring it back home and air dry so there isn’t any shrinking of the fabric.🙏🏾♥️🙏🏾

Thank You for the video Allan. The life stories of some of the horses and prince jack were great. There is a unwritten law (my own law) a person can never have to many good horses around the place. For you and your family of horse people it is great to have enough good gorses around for all. Allan you totally right and have done what the people that let take the horses to find a good home. It is great that it just so happen yours is the best home for them. There they will be used and taken care of properly. To those people you should home them out. It is your decision and your mind to change any time whether the go or stay. It should be no skin off their noses what you do. Blake is right a horse that will work and put trust in its rider with one blind eye is rare. It has to put a lot of faith in the rider. Rawhide must have that trust for you. This was most likely why at first Rawhide was spooky on being mounted on the left he could not see you coming. He dose very well now. Years ago I met a man that had a one eyed cutting horse and they did very well cutting.
