As someone in the 30s who has been recently laid off, has taken a very odd unstable career path and lives in the bay area- this video was healing!

Love this, Elise! I've had many jobs over the years, many of which are chapter 1. Tbh, still creating my chapter 2 and planning to return to school next January to complete my degree and continue onto grad school. :) I lived a lot of life along the way... Life and careers are definitely a zigzag!

Hi Elise, just came across your channel. So sorry you had such a viscerally negative experience from that guy. Incredibly toxic. Another proud UCB alum here who just loves that you're taking a chance and sharing very real stories. Can relate so much. Can't wait to watch your channel grow. Go bears!

That story about that lawyer pisses me off!!! Such an empty boy reliant on external validation. Who wants to be constantly engaged in eternal dyck measuring contests. Very sad and toxic. UC Berkley is one of the top schools in the world. What the heck was he even talking about??? He's an idiot and my daughter goes to an Ivy. There are incredible, world renowned institutions outside of the Ivy's. You were also very young. Imagine thinking that young people don't evolve and grow and that you can judge them for where they happen to be in that moment.

You took the words out of my mouth 👏 if only I had my wits together that night to say those exact words to him! It really makes me happy to know that there are so many open-minded people like you who understand and value the potential in people. Thanks for watching and sharing your thoughts 💛

i think the lawyer was insensitive. there is a drive to want to aim for the best for oneself, however, that same person should be able to self actualize in a way that doesn't involve putting others down. in short, he was a tool, however, your struggle of how you view and accept yourself was triggered by an externality, a man who probably didn't know just how much that statement played a role in your overall health and well-being. Nice takeaways here. In your current job, do you take $$ and invest it for your future self?
Try this prank with your friends 😂 @karina-kola
