I kinda grew up in a situation like Joe and was like that. I didn’t beat up homosexual kids or anything like that but my father was too old to really be there for me and my mom just wasn’t there. Seeing this angry kid get a happy ending is oddly sorrowful to me. I don’t know, just wanted say that I guess.

Nurse Bendy wanted a family and for someone to see her as a real person, and Joe needs some guidance from someone he'd actually be willing to listen to as well as wanted an actual parent since he grew up thinking his mother died in childbirth and his father is too old to fill that role. This was genuinely the best possible ending that they both could've gotten given the shitty hand they both were dealt.
