So far since the inception of The Ring KO of the year, Lennox Lewis, Nonito Donaire, and Canelo Alvarez are the only boxers who got two KOTYs in their boxing career. Having one KOTY is already impressive, but having it two times is already insane.

@boxinglearner1996 Kano vs Olascuaga was for the WBC strap. Leo's KO was nice but Olascauga's KO is much more flashy and is a pretty rare KO, in order to punch the guard like that you'd need some elite accuracy.

3 "Knock-Out of the Year" Years to disagree with / Other winners presented: # 1990 - James Buster Douglas = KO 10 over "Iron" Mike Tyson - Not only an oustanding upset but likewise an outstanding KO with a swift-cordinated series of punches that sent Tyson out. IMO it was a disgrace by The Ring that Douglas's BIG Knock-Out was not the winner! # 1999 - Mike Tyson = KO 5 over Francois Botha - It was not a friendly fight. It was a lot of bad intentions. Botha was showing to be the better boxer by landing more effective punches. In the 5th rounf, he got to comfterble and Tyson hammered Botha with a big hit that sent his opponent cold out, crashing to the canvas. # 2014 - Wladimir Klitschko = KO 5 over Kubrat Pulev - Pulev was the mandatory title contender and proved he had earned his right that night by giving Wladimir a good challange. 55 seconds left of the 5th round, Pulev had just delivered a nice 1-2 combo on Wladimir, when Wladimir seemingly stunned shifting a power-gear up, responds by throwing a fast solid left-hook to the chin that knocks Pulev out cold! Pulev was hundredths of a second from blocking it but the hook was to fast and when connected perfectly it flattened him!

It was a combination of a great, clean combination that sent Tyson out and was impossible to avoid or counter. Plus Tyson was THE badest man on the planet who sent people out but had never in the PRO ring been down for count. People could not ever imagine ANY of what happened that night.

@@chrisgonz9963 I had to take a better look at Julian Jackson's KO over Herol Graham. Grahman had never before been stopped in the ring and been in the ring with some great punchers. Yeah that was a solid short right-handhook that sank Grahman cold. And Graham had done some good duckings during the fight to avoid that right-hook but now when it was close-up, he had no room to move and got caught Okay if it is a 1-punch KO, then I agree this is a brutal one. If it is a combination series, then I go with Douglas KO. Both cases are valid here as both KO victims held up credit to been tough opponents. Personally, I just have to stick with Douglas's KO as it is a thing of boxing briliance, especally in the HW division where we rarley see such nice KO finnishers that are not based on pure power - and the opposite in the lower divisions where we more rarely see pure brutal KO's done by 1 or 2 punches.
