I've always said that Gamboa didn't have a glass jaw, it was just that he always had a big reach disadvantage so was more likely to get caught because of that, and I'm glad someone has brought that up.

Yes. I always said that when Gamboa went down, it was usually because he was out of position or moving due to the reach. Still on Enzo and betting Juan “Wobbles” Lopez is on here. That’s what my friends group called him.

@BiggieTrismegistus9 ай бұрын
Now that the UFC is clearly the best and biggest MMA organization it's rare to be denied a great matchup. Back when MMA started you had the UFC and Pancrase in Japan then Pride took Pancrase's place. Bas Rutten spent almost his entire career fighting for Pancrase and only had two fights in the UFC. In his last he won the heavyweight title over Kevin Randleman but unfortunately years of fighting had taken their toll and her never fought again. Pride meant we didn't get a fight like Fedor Emilianenko versus Randy Couture and didn't see Chuck Liddell versus Wanderlei Silva or Big Nog fight Frank Mir until one or both of the guys were on the downside of their careers.

For JMM, his legs never completely left him so maybe he wouldn't fall under the shaky chin category but Tommy had a lot of fights where his legs were gone after a dramatic punch. People say that his "6'1" (potentially "6'2") frame was too thin to carry 147 lbs. but he went up to 154 lbs., Middleweight, and Super Middleweight where he had similar moments. Could it. be bc of his lack of conditioning? idk if strength & conditioning coaches were popular in the 70s and 80s but that would surprise me if it was bc of his conditioning since he was trained by the legendary Emmanuel Steward.
