The Lambent Zerker to this day is my favorite lambent creature back in Gears 3. I really wish they remastered Beast Mode so we can play as Lambent creatures alongside the Locust.

You know I think the Lambent is meant to be a representation of Greed Reason being: The people of Sera fought a long and bloody war, the Pendulum Wars, for 79 years for control of Immulsion It was pretty much a gold rush and whomever had the most got to set the price But the more people worked around it the more Rust Lung cases formed Then when the COG ordered there to be research and eventually a cure for Rust Lung, it instead lead a scientist to play god in creating "super beings" And even though that was halted The Immulsion continued to evolve into the Lambent And it kept going until it reached the Surface and came close to destroying the whole damn planet

I really like how the Lambent have all these crazy mutations. Definitely makes me think of the Flood from Halo because just like the Flood it’s a fungal mutation that twists it’s hosts into all these horrible abominations that are only focused on spreading the infection. The big thing that sets the two apart are the fact that the Lambent isn’t intelligent. It’s definitely awesome how in 3 it almost destroyed everything. That’s definitely a good way to make them threatening. I’m pretty confident that the real world reason for them exploding is because it would set them apart from normal zombies. As well as the fact that if they explode you wouldn’t have bodies all over the place that lag the game. This is just a guess so I could be wrong.
