You don't need to bother going eco then tc off (2 seperate modes anyway) just give it a blip on the initial start for a few good pops and bangs. Probably not advisable if the car is cold or at all due to excess fuel and bore wash. Get a stage 1 map at least, wakes the car up to what its capable of.

10:00 you need to get underbody brace matey, they're like £140/50 and well worth it Also get M3/M4 Lower control arms and Tension struts :) All in all should come to around 5/600 pounds with labour + alignment, proper worth it!

How do you get around insurance and the fact that it isn’t road legal? Removing any factory fitted emissions unit is considered illegal and therefore not roadworthy. Do cobra sport put that it’s for track use only in the small print?

I had a M135i and fitted a M performance exhaust and richter decat. Used to bang on every upshift. Little tip - purchase a Bluespark tuning box. It transformed my M135i into a missile.

No, do not get a tuning box. Do it properly and get a remap.

I wouldn't be broadcasting the fact you have removed the GPF/PPF on youtube..... I'm not usually one for laying down the law and be all pedantic - but you are running a risk telling the world on youtube that you have removed the GPF. Technically your car is now not roadworthy and your insurance is invalid (even if exhaust modification is declared). The car always has to pass an MOT - and even though it's under 3 years and an MOT test isn't legally required, it still would have to pass one, and hence be road worthy at all times. With the recent changes in the MOT testing, removing the GPF is a complete fail. It's unlikely to be an issue but if you ever get into an accident, a festudious insurer may pick you up on this. You will also be stuffed if you ever get pulled by one of those random DVLA spot checks they do. Plus you just can't trust everyone who views your video to not be an ass and shop you in........pull this video buddy.

@@liamhorn1150 You really need to read the recent changes to the MOT test standards...any modification or removal of a factory fitted particulate filter, regardless if it passes an emissions test, is an instant fail and the car is not allowed to be driven away. Checking for tampering of the filter is now part of the test requirements, and they will know if it has been removed.

I'm sure if you have a friendly MOT inspector it's all good 👍. I've known some people pass with a decat or EGR delete. Funnily enough someone who blanked their EGR was told by the MOT inspector that the emissions are better than before 😂

Guys don't do the whole eco Pro back to traction it literally does nothing, just push the traction button 😂 but yeah definitely gonna be booking mine in. Also the strrt up revs, it'll sound like that in comfort, just hold the throttle down slightly.

Fair play for having the balls to do this but you’re definitely running the risk of affecting your warranty. I’m pretty sure BMW won’t be best pleased either when you take it in for a service. Plus you’re documenting this all over social media (for our benefit I know) but remember what happened to Living Life Fast. End of the day it’s your decision and risk though so enjoy. It does sound a lot better but maybe a few too many pops and bangs for my liking. Mine is a non PPF car and sounds decent already but I’m going to get a MPE on it next year, mainly so I can keep my warranty.

chris cringle technically it’s a fail. You’ll need a friendly MOT tester to get another 12 months ticket. The GPF does rob sound sound, but that is too much for me. I’d like a bit more noise, but not to that extent. I’d feel like a pillock tuning up to work making a racket like that.

Prij .T milltek do an OPF delete downpipe but will need mapping out as there is 2 pressure sensors and 2 02 sensors on the VAG opf it’s not a cheap job

It is worth noting that even as declared mods, removing a GPF from a car (same as with a DPF) is now technically illegal and subject to instant MOT failure (admittedly only matters at 3 years old) and a big fine if you happened to be caught by the police (unlikely but nothings impossible). Thought that worth stating for the record.....also what a nause it will be to have the GPF refitted every year just to get it through an MOT?!

On that run to Sheffield, what was the journey mpg before? Seriously looking at an M140i as my next car as something a little different to what i have had before such as my current 530d M Sport. Nedd for a large family truckster disappearing as my son will be driving by the end of the year hopefully and family days out (4 people) now few and far between! I can do 400 mile round trips with work and when doing so i usually sit on the motorway at 78mph on cruise, so interested to know what the car returns on such runs. 335d xdrive is another option!

i don’t think it’s necessary to flash the car after replacing the opf since it doesn’t have any sensor monitoring it, also the opf you guys have looks exactly and at the same location as the secondary cat came on my wife’s 2015 228i SULEV in the States, and i replaced it before with a straight pipe. im really curious what’s the difference between two device.

The pressure sensor for the opf is installed on downpipe. You can drive without the opf but once you go above a certain rpm around 5k it goes into limp mode
