Patrick isnt a genuis. In the earlier seasons, he was more of a witty but mainly laid back character. He has his head in clouds and is aloof so he doesnt use his intelligence as much. They dumbed him down as the show went because dumb= funny = viewers. Same thing with Kevin from The Office. They severely dumb down characters for laughs, thus taking away the charm they initially had, and in turn ruining the characters.

I think it’s suppose to be funny yk? The comedy relief being the one who fixes the problem. Comedy relief is known for easing any tension or distress, and I think it’s done pretty okay in an episodic episode. I find it an endearing and interesting take. It might baffle the audience just as similar to the characters. If this show was serious with a ongoing story then I’m pretty sure I’d agree, but this is SpongeBob we’re talking about 😂 it just has to be simple to be enjoyable.

I should probably explain something about Patrick smartpants You see when his "brain" plugs into his head which confirms he was smart but his brain wasn't plugged in because his brain apparently relies on electrical outlets idk at the end of the episode it's revealed that it wasn't his brain SpongeBob mistaked brain coral for the upper part of Patrick's head this is what caused Patrick to become a Galaxy brain genius SpongeBob unplugs the brain coral and plugs Patrick's real brain back in I'm also not a big fan of this theory in general The point you made that brain Coral looks nothing like how it looks like in the episode so clearly his head is perfectly fine is just so dumb so you're telling me in real life crabs, squids (or octopus because technically Squidward isn't a squid), and starfish can stand up like humans ( I don't know how to phrase this because Squidward has multiple legs) And I should probably mention this I am not trying to be mean I am just criticizing a theory that I don't like this is a very well-made video I'm sure the Creator is a very nice guy do not send hate to him

You know how they show his brain plugging into his body like a wall plug, i feel like his connection is just a bit bad so his brain is kinda flickering in n out. Also Patrick treats his lazy dumbness as a lifestyle choice, which implies that he could also choose to be smart and get a job but just don’t wanna. He went to community college and has a drivers license which means he can lock in when it counts. I also think it’s possible that SpongeBob put a different brain coral on Patrick’s head instead of his original head, which is why Patrick will randomly say something smart. I think by shrinking down to go in squidward his head connected better allowing for a random burst of knowledge from the brain coral. He just hates how being too smart makes him so miserable so he never has the coral plugged all the way in.

Love the video and i support the theory except those first two episodes were a serious reach, SpongeBob wanted to be a fry cook since he was a kid and likely talked about it a lot so regardless of intelligence patrick must have known how important it was to him and hyping him up is more of being a good friend than intellect, and if he knew that guy would buy all of their chocolate he wouldnt have been running away from him the whole episode compiled with the fact noone else wanted their chocolate kinda shows it wasnt a genius moment either
