It still hurting me that in 2013 i just needed 1 trophy to get the platinum on MGS 4, sounds of the battlefield, i Did Everything else and was trying the get the last iPod song, I had my ps3 controller connected to the console and I pulled it by accident, my ps3 fell down and the HDD got destroyed, that’s really painful

Mgs 1 plat is easy if u use the japanese version of the game, but much harder if u use other versions. Mgs 2 is only annoying cuz of the big boss trophy. Mgs3 super easy

MGS2, without question, is the hardest.. and I went the extra mile and went for the top score in every single VR mission to get all characters orange.. it was murder. I'm now trying to get the Big Boss Rank to completely complete the game.

I'm currently working on the MG Survive platinum, it's a horrible grind and the worst part is waiting real time for the base digs and exploration team to be usable again, if you didn't have to wait you could probably knock it out in a week but instead I have to remember to hop on for 5 minutes each morning and it's gonna take months to collect enough energy from them. Other than that I'd say MGS2 was harder to platinum than MGS4, 5 playthroughs where I had to hold up every single guard and play hundreds of VR missions took a lot more out of me than 8 very specific playthroughs. Oh and Revengeance can be an absolute joke to platinum if you fully upgrade Gray Fox's blade but that might've been a pre-order bonus.

Risings trophy difficulty comes from getting first place on all VR missions, where you can only use Raidens regular HF sword and the boss weapons. (also the fox blade does the same thing as ripper mode, so all you need is the infinite wig and problem solved)

Damn that's actually a good idea. I have a PS3 copy of MGSV just laying around I should double dip on the platinum. Honestly, if you like MGSV:TPP enough to Platinum it twice Survive is pretty similar to it in the way that it plays. It's not the best game but maybe something to do before MG Master Collection/MGS Delta?

​@@PerfectStealth a friend told me you can't platinum MGSV on PS3 anymore since they shut the servers down, they were needed for the infiltrate an FOB trophy so unless someone has a private server or something you're out of luck.

i simply would have not gotten the plat if that was the case. Some of those MGS1 Snake missions are borderline impossible to do if you dont do them absolutely flawlessly and even still you might be a couple hundred points short of 1st lol!

The Master Collection versions seem to have changed some trohies in MGS2 and MGS3. For example the "virtually impossible" is no longer a trophy in the Master Collection version. Instead you now have a trophy for the Big Boss rank.

Nice list! I do think you undersold the MGS2 platinum however. I wish it had only taken me 75 hours! Personally I found MGS 4 easier, but the Big Boss Emblem is definitely the main barrier to a platinum.

@@AzguardMike MGS2 was the hardest for me too out of all of them. The dog tag grind on every difficulty, the Ray fight on extreme, the VR missions etc. The only run I remember being difficult on MGS4 was the big boss run.

Great video! I mostly agree with your ranking but for me Rising was harder than MGS4 since I'm not into hack and slash games a lot. I kinda find MGS2 more tedious than 4 too especially since it has those damn VR missions. I managed to get all trophies including dlc, across all versions (both plats on MGS2, MGS3, TPP and 100% on Zeroes) so now I'm waiting for Master Collection Volume 1 this October! Can't wait to plat the psx Metal Gear Solid!

They added a trophy for getting FOXHOUND rank in MGS 3 master collection so a EXTREME or EUROPEAN EXTREME playthru is now recquired for the plat

I have done 2, 3, GZ, V & MGRR and currently working on PW. 2 is absolutely the hardest to plat but was very fun and rewarding. Rising was the most fun I've had in a game in a long time and the platinum was short sprinkled with some difficulty in the vr dlc missions. Leaving 4 to last out of fear, doubt survive is worth playing even to complete the series.

so far I've got the plats for V,4,3 and 2 2 and 4 were by far the most grueling. I would say 2 takes it for me simply because of the VR missions and the boss battles on Extreme while collecting the dog tags. The ray fight on extreme is just insane. Almost zero room for error and you have to fight 20 rays. You can afford to take maybe 1 big hit the entire fight, otherwise you have to do a pretty flawless run. The harrier fight was also pretty challenging. On top of all that 500 VR missions is just a slog and a half lol. I'm so glad I started my platinum run with knocking out a large portion of VR and not saving it until the end. Some of the MGS1 Snake VR missions are HARDCORE.

Pretty sure I have some form of PTSD from get the plats in 2 and 4. 2 took an entire summer just to complete all of the VR missions. MGS4 can completely blow me. The amount of playthroughs and lollygagging I had to do for that god damn platinum stills makes my blood pressure rise. It should be noted that there isn't even a trophy for getting all of the emblems. You get a trophy for unlocking every ipod song, but in order to get the Snake Eater track, you must get every emblem. Utter nightmare fuel.

I currently only have the MGS4 Platinum. Yes, I cheesed it with save and time hacks. I only bought a PS3 for MGS4, and initially the playstation network had no trophy system, so MGS4 and the GOD of War games tempted me to Platinum them. I never attempted to platinum the other games, but simply playing MGS2 and MGR on a normal playthrough hinted the skill it will take, so props to those who earned it.

Update for the master collection mgs 3 now has a difficulty trophy so slightly harder There is now a platinum trophy for the original metal gear + Metal gear 2: solid snake that game is pretty easy to platinum, just finish the game, and boss rush, any difficulty

The only easy game on this is Metal Gear Solid 3. The rest in this series requires a big time commitment and I have contemplated giving up once or twice on earning those other platinums. Peace Walker is one playthrough, but depending on how you did in the main story, chances are you have to repeat missions, because Snake is underpowered early on. That’s not to mention 130 Extra Ops, all of which require to be S ranked, and a few of them are not easy. I highly recommend getting a co-op partner for some of the vehicle missions, and all of the monster hunter missions. MGS4 - Eight playthroughs minimum, and the Big Boss emblem. Nuff said. MGS2- on the PS3 version, you have to play thru 512 Alternate/VR missions. On the PS5 release, you have to earn Big Boss, which is very challenging. So pick your poison. Anyone who has this entire franchise complete with all the platinums, deserves my utmost respect.

I've recently undusted my fat ps3 to finally platinum mgs4 after owning it for over 15 yrs, I have to say, the most annoying run was the chicken emblem run because of the 35 hrs. The big boss emblem run wasn't even remotely close to be as annoying or frustrating as the chicken run, the only nerve-wrecking part was the bike chase where I made 3 different saves for each of the bike chase phases "just in case" I accidentally killed a FROG soldier without noticing, as for the rest, not a problem, smoke and stun grenades are your bffs assuming you did previous prep to max them out for your BB run. Edit: I also own metal gear rising and I'm very bad at it so we'll see how I do with that platinum once I start putting time into it because boooooooi I really suck at MGR:R 🤣 but I like the gameplay style.

I don’t think Metal Gear Survive is in that rank. The only Metal Gear that I platinum is Survive and it’s the most hated one for me lol. The reason that I didn’t get plat for other MGS is I felt exhausted to do the run and felt it time consuming and difficult to obtain but I don’t felt that in Survive, only huge amount of grinds easily 100 - 200 hrs😅

I'm sorry, man. But I whole heartedly disagree with this ranking. I've gotten the platinum for all of these, and none came close to the difficulty that is MSG2. The bosses on Extreme were flat out brutal with no mercy, and the last 20 VR Missions were the most difficult thing I've ever done in a video game.
