If i remember correctly, in the end that worked against him when the centaur Nessys convinced Herakles' last lover to make a cloak of the skin of the last creature that Herakles had killed. And thus Nessys managed a post-mortem victory, in which Herakles' wife unwittingly wrapped him in the very poisons that had helped build up his heroic feats in the past. Might be misremembering stuff, though.

The ones with goat legs were Panes (or Phaunoi), multiplications of the god Pan. He was identified with the Roman god Faunus who was also multiplied into a host of fauns. Fauns and satyrs got mixed up by renaissance poets and artists because they had similar functions as male nature spirits, and so satyrs were mistakenly given the features of Pan/Faunus, a misunderstanding that persists to this day.

Fun Fact: in one of the extras of this game, they show the modern day where a bunch of helicopters surrounded Kronus' dead body with the temple on his back. It said that the temple still holds secrets within it kinda implying that we will play God of War universe bit as normal people.

@@auberginemanproductions1608 No, thats only in *some* versions of the myth, its not clear if he did cheat or not, and even if he did, cheating once isnt anything in greek mythology. Hades fell in love with persephone, and did something rational (at the time), he spoke with the father, being zeus (of course). Zeus was in a really good mood (otherwise hades would be blasted off the world) and told hades he could marry persephone. The whole kidnap thing was zeus' idea. Hades was always a loving husband too, he really adored his wife and saw her as an "equal" (whatever that meant to the olympians). Hades by far is the best person out of the greek gods (other than hestia, because hestia is bestia).

Dante's Inferno is surprisingly well-researched. I went ahead and played it again after reading through the Divine Comedy and while it certainly isn't ACCURATE by any means, the depictions of Hell's circles, those that Dante meets in them, and the punishments that are administered are true enough to the poem.

Heck the reason why Ares never attempted a coup against Zeus was because it risking getting on the bad side of Nemesis aka Nyx's eldest child and the Primordial Goddess of Vengeance and Retribution and all of the myths that involve Nemesis pretty much reveals all of the deities including the Titans had a healthy amount of fear and respect for her, heck even the deities that did the coup against Zeus including Athena made sure that their coup wasn't known by Nemesis because they realized how screwed they would be if Nemesis caught wind of it. Speaking of which where the heck was Nemesis during all of this I mean she's the eldest child of Nyx and the Primordial Goddess of Vengeance, and Retribution I mean throughout the Greek Saga of God Of War she's no where to been seen which is odd since in Ascension Kratos breaks his oath to Ares, escapes out of the "Prison of the Damned" which for some reason is the Hecatonchires Ageaeon who was turned into a living prison for breaking a "Blood Oath to Zeus", Kratos killing the Furies, the Furies conspiring with Ares to overthrow Zeus in a Coup, there's Morpheus, and Persphone's actions in Chains of Olympus, there is Ares trying to overthrow Zeus in God of War, there's Thanatos's wicked actions in Ghost of Sparta, Zeus's Machiavellian scheme to screw Kratos over and killing Athena in God of War 2, then there's all the evil crap Zeus and the surviving Olympians pulled along with it being revealed that Athena survived her fatal stab wound and seemingly played the long game and allowed Kratos to wipe Zeus and the other 99% of the Olympians so she can rule over everything in God of War 3. So my takeaway is this. Where the crap was Nemesis when all this bad stuff that resulted in the deaths of countless innocent people happened?

Something I'm sure has already been mentioned many times is that Kratos does not equal Cratus. Kratos was made coincidentally without the knowledge of Cratus. They chose the name Kratos cause it meant strength.

According to the official novelization of this game, the Hydra was indeed defeated by Hercules, and this is a new Hydra born afterwards from Typhon and Echidna. I don't know if the one he defeats originally was also their child, but this one was.
