Let me just say to yall ESPN Merchants out there who are just repeating the same false narratives and don’t care yo even watch and analyze full games. Luka had a great all around defensive year before he got injured right before the playoffs and even early in the playoffs before it piled up. Statistically he was the 9th best ISO Defender and legitimately top 2-3 best PG defender all season long. You can tell it just got too much that he had to take painkiller injections before each game in the finals, he needed to conserve energy more than ever too to facilitate and score so he had to rely on team defense but Boston was just too good with their 5 man out offense. If Dallas had faced a team like the 2023 8th seed heat and not a literal superteam they would’ve won but they lost so the narrative shifted again and just blamed it all on Lukas defense cause its easy when his literal teammates couldn’t make open shots to save their lives and choked!!

Only one flaw for LaMelo seems generous. Lol. I'd say he is also an undisciplined defender. He gambles too much and isn't often fully engaged.

the reason why Fox was settling this last season was because he started focusing more on defense, which we all know can kill your legs when youre not use to it. i think with more reps playing defense consistently he can get back to his fast drives and killer mid range. good video i agree with almost everything on here

Good you looked into this. Funny thing is that majority of star players progressing at finishing/shooting, they barely progress at weaknesses, rather polish what they already good at.

Finishing around the rim should be one for Tatum for his size he misses a lot of layups
@sambo4163 ай бұрын
No he has some strong finishes at the rim and gets fouled when drives dunks on people or makes them not jump. His biggest weakness is lack of willingness to attack the basket and settle for bad contested 3s and long twos
@cycleoflife5653 ай бұрын
I agree. Tatum too often gets to the rim and just can’t seal the deal. Too many missed layups as if he loses concentration once it comes time to finish. He usually off balance and seems to just toss the ball up there with seemingly little confidence.

For Ant his off ball defense has to be #1. It's Trae/Harden level bad. He combines extremely low effort with poor awareness. If you just watch his off ball defense all game it's shocking how bad he is. He's a statue half the time.

As a celtics fan you’re spot on with Jaylen. I’d argue his one dimensional offense has been one of the reasons we couldn’t win earlier than we did, especially paired with smart as a third option.

Curry shot creation😮😮?
@michaelahurt3 ай бұрын
Wemby's shot selection and decision making has to be by far his biggest weakness right now. Honestly that's a bigger issue than the discipline on defense just because defensively he's STILL the best defender in the NBA. And a lot of turnovers are a direct result of that poor decision making on offense (and bad teammates)
@gmfbishop57943 ай бұрын
He’s not the best defender in the nba lmao. All he proved his rookie year is he’s the best RIM PROTECTOR as you seen he can block but one on one defense ain’t a strength yet
@michaelahurt3 ай бұрын
@@gmfbishop5794 And rim protection is 80% of defense. If you can single handedly take away the two most valuable shots in basketball -- free throws and layups -- that automatically puts you in the conversation. His impact is unlike anyone since Russell. The thing with Wemby is he's mobile and generates turnovers too so you can't force him out of the play like Gobert. Wemby actually _can_ be in two places at once. He's a 7'5" Anthony Davis. Yes, he has a lot of room for growth -- completely agree -- but his physical traits, instincts and intelligence are already so good that if he never gets better he will win multiple DPOY. He sucked his first 20 games and _still_ almost won DPOY because he was so much better than everyone else the last 50.
