Repeats with different colors are by design.. It makes people who bought last years jersey not feel like it's quickly outdated after just 1 season I would rather do away with the city editions altogether - there's too many jerseys as it is!!! Stick to association, statement, alternate (can be city edition like) & 1 classic per team!

The city jerseys are horrible. Airport abbreviations and city nicknames. You can’t even identify some of the teams. They need to stick with the classic jerseys. Maybe do a different version of a throwback every year instead

Exactly. I hate the nba jerseys ever since nike took over. They should have kept the home whites and two colors road jersey. And maybe maybe added a city jerseys that could be worn home with the white jerseys. All of these different kinds of jerseys every year are taken away from the teams core. And half to most of them are ugly and make no sense with these colors schemes

I think it's neat to have a one-off jersey for a little while. they have potential. the Wizards did a cherry-blossom one, the Nets did a subway-inspired one and the Basquiat series, the Blazers did plaid, the Clippers had the black and white ones. you keep home whites, your away color, your alternate jerseys, and then you get one for variance. i like the concept

The "City Edition" jerseys tend to be hit and miss, but less so in the NBA than with MLB's "City Connect" jerseys (some of which are so god awful, it's not even funny). I'm not a fan of the Mavs' city edition jerseys, for example, but others are pretty sharp and very old school (Philly, Portland, for example). I think the "City Edition" will be around for a while, but it could use a few tweaks here and there. Also, I wish the Heat would've kept the Miami Vice themes City Edition theme, because that vibe is a perfect fit for South Florida.

The extra sets of jerseys are never going away, because it's an added revenue source, so let's just accept it. What's hard to accept though, is some of these appalling designs - if you can even call the new Boston jersey a 'design'. But I'm guessing a lot of kids will think it's immensely cool, so I'm fairly sure it's a calculated move, despite all us Statler & Waldorfs in the gallery...

I never understood the city edition jerseys. I mean, I grew up watching just two primary jerseys: a home white jersey and an away dark jersey. That’s it. Now, they flip floor the colors at random, have all kinds of different jerseys now for all occasions. Wouldn’t be surprised if they came out with holiday inspired jerseys for the occasion lol. I guess they’re all money makers and nba is marketing them like crazy.

Because I chose to consistently use when each team used its current name. That's all. The Warriors were first established in the 1940s out of Philadelphia before moving to San Francisco, but the *Golden State* Warriors first played in 1971/72.
