Insult Bot, hands down. He caught me after a firefight during my first foray into the Ash Heap, and hit me with "One of us is slow, friendless, and completely devoid of personaility. The other is a Protectron. ZING!" I was completely flabbergasted as I took the "YOU'VE BEEN INSULTED" printout and watched him walk away. As he was going, I faintly heard him say something about contacting the burn ward and it broke me for the next 10 minutes. 🤣

The 50's thing is just supposed to be an aesthetic/background. The devs and writers have always said it's not meant to actually be the 50's frozen in time. Society decided that fashion and entertainment weren't as important as advancement when we first harnessed the atom, but that doesn't mean that teenagers didn't become edgier with each passing generation as they got sick of a world that emphasized work and neglected recreation. My least favorite thing about fallout 3 is how all of the sudden, wastelanders start acting like 50's caricatures

I think deputy weld was a damn good idea. Both in making the city gates safe for caravans, the beggars, and the low-level player.. but also in-universe. Lucas simms can't be everywhere all the time, and the sniper on the gates can only do so much against mid/close targets. If he ever heard about a guy selling robots, he'd send for him at great expense and probably then spend even more buying and having a robot programmed. No-way I'd trust Moira to do the job. Best leave it to the old sage himself. I'm not sure how simms makes his money. Its not shown if megaton has a tax system or if he's required to sell anything he scavenges from attackers. I'm leaning towards a taxation system though. Robots are expensive, and the robot merchant is always on the move to.. well, somewhere important where he says he has clients. He doesn't visit main settlements and he doesn't have much time for idle chit-chat. Lucas simms would have needed to hire a caravan or a courier to pay him to go out of his way and visit megaton. It seems like an extremely expensive endeavor. But who knows, maybe simms bought the robot before he ever came to megaton, negating the cost to have the merchant come to him. Perhaps he and Moira have a jovial relationship. It's possible he or another scout (maybe jericho) found a dormant robot and had Moira reprogram it for the town. Seems sketchy, but we don't see much of Moira's electronic/hacking skill. You can only hope she's better with computers than chemistry! No matter what though, I like deputy weld. He belongs.

Takahashi is fully capable of communicating, as Codsworth demonstrates when he has a full conversation with the bot, and fully understands his responses. His speech module is stuck on that one phrase, and I assume his insistance on only acknowledging "Yes" as a response from customers due to being unable to converse with anyone other than another robot. My only complaint is the fact that Bethesda gave Codsworth this dialogue, and then made it so Curie is unable to understand Takahashi regardless if she's a robot or a Synth, when as a robot she should easily be able to understand what he's actually saying rather than trying to start up a conversation in Japanese.

Worker are already expected to be robot in work place by the owning class, those robot are property of the owning class, like the owning class expect worker labors turning into products are own by the owning class. Expect the difference between human worker and robot worker are, robot worker are literally the commodity that produces other commodities. In post war era, these robots are owns by the community, not any individual or a groups that work on a for profit motives. Owning class require labors to work on their lands to produces product which the owning class own and sold at a mark up price, while the wages laborer get only a fractions of their labors in products values and own nothing from theirs labors. That is the difference here, compare a robot to a tractors for examples, not human. If you can't see anything else than numbers go up you aren't alive.

I think we should call the protagonist(s) of Fallout 76 as the Vault Resident(s). It makes things less confusing
@rautamiekka2 жыл бұрын
How ?
@tinaherr38562 жыл бұрын
@@rautamiekka in the video, the speaker refers to the playable character of Fallout 76 as "the Vault Dweller". That title, however, is the name given to the protagonist of the first Fallout game.
@tinaherr38562 жыл бұрын
@𝐒𝐚𝐢𝐤𝐨-𝐂𝐡𝐚𝐧 still, the (real life, not in-game character) person in the video referred to the Fallout 76 protagonist as *the* Vault Dweller, not *a* vault dweller. Combined with them referring to a protagonist eith that name, it just makes it confusing
@tinaherr38562 жыл бұрын
@𝐒𝐚𝐢𝐤𝐨-𝐂𝐡𝐚𝐧 the thing is, "*The* Vault Dweller" is the name specically given to the protagonist of the first Fallout game. You can call other characters that live in Vaults vault dwellers, but they can't be called "*The* Vault Dweller". It's like calling someone (in the context of Fallout, not other media) that was chosen for something "The Chosen One", or someone who carried a package "The Courier". It just doesn't work in this context. Plus, all of the Fallout protagonists have different names from each other, even ones from the spin-offs. There aren't two Lone Wanderers, or multiple The Chosen Ones. Also, canonicaly, there were 50 residents of Vault 76, that were sent out with a mission to reclaim Appalachia, and on the hunt for the Overseer. It is very much likely that the main quest would be done by several of the residents l, especially given threats like the Silo security system or the Scorched Beast Queen. Yet due to the nature of the game, it could also be that only one unique individual did the main quest. This makes the protagonist situation of the game either be that it was one person, or multiple people. Given the almost Schroeder-type question of who is the protagonist, along side my other points, the player character(s) of Fallout 76 should also be given a separate name from "The Vault Dweller".
@tinaherr38562 жыл бұрын
@𝐒𝐚𝐢𝐤𝐨-𝐂𝐡𝐚𝐧 the thing I'm trying to get across is both the wording, and capitalization. "The" implies that there is only one, when put into the context of protagonists. You day that anyone that lived in a vault can be called "The Vault Dweller", but there were hundreds of thousands, maybe even millions of people assigned Vaults before the Great War, not to mention their descendents. Some can't be "The" Vault Dweller if there are thousands of them. Additionally, it's about names. The term "vault dweller" is typically lowercased when referring to non-protagonists. It is also just that, a term. Their parents didn't name their kids, "The Vault Dweller". When people use "vault dweller", it is a *title*, not an actual *name*. However, with Fallout protagonists, we don't know their names (or rather, they have not set canonical name). Thus, they are given names such as "The Courier/Courier Six", "the Lone Wanderer", "the Sole Survivor", ect. For all intents and purposes, those are their names. And you don't just give the same name to multiple characters in a story like that. Even despite Bethesda's flaws, they know that much, hence why there are not multiple Fawkes', or several Paladin Danse's in the Fallout games. There aren't two Luke Skywalkers in the Star Wars universe. Minor side character in small, side stories like those told in holotapes or notes may have repeating names that are the same, but not major or even significant side characters.
