I feel I am deep in the water now.

You will be fine drinking soy milk. The estrogen in soy is so low it’s not going to harm you. The only time you should eliminate food from your diet is if a doctor tells you.
@heyitslo4 жыл бұрын
While i don’t personally eat soy, it’s actually fine. The phytoestrogens in soy actually block up your estrogen receptors in a good way because they prevent animal hormones from getting in. Refined soy isn’t great, but look at some of the longest living civilizations like the Okinawans- soy every day 👍🏼

The food industry does this on purpose!! They know most people have no understanding of grams and the equivalence to standard measuring sizes. They also fight tooth and nail to keep the gram measuring protocol - they have the best lobbyists. Just remember that there are 4 grams in a teaspoon and 12 grams in a tablespoon - it still doesn't sound like much until you go dump 4 teaspoons of sugar out in front of you. Sugar is poison people, and it should be a crime what the food industry is allowed to get away with.

Bobby, on the subject of cow vs goat dairy. I just spent the last 6 months on an anti-inflammatory diet which avoided all dairy, most grains, nightshades and sugars. This in an effort to solve reflux, hiatal hernia and eosinophilic esophagitis (EoE). I’ve gone from heartburn and acid reflux every meal to maybe once or twice a month. I’ve started bringing some grains, nightshades and dairy back into my diet. It seems cow dairy with processed wheat are huge triggers. I’ve since switched to goat cheese and have found zero issues. I also can’t believe what I’ve been missing out on with goat cheese. On a side note, my one year old son was having constant constipation and we figured it may be related to the whole milk we give him. We switched him to the A2 milk and within 3 days the stools were normal. We are now about 10 days in and everything seems to be better. I can’t help but wonder if this is all related to the A1casin protein. I look forward to a cow vs goat dairy episode.

soy milk having excessive estrogen, specifically to the point where it will negatively effect you is a total myth -- men are not going to get moobs from drinking soy milk. soy has phytoestrogens, a type of plant estrogen that has very low actual estrogen levels and isoflavones that can actually cause anti-estrogenic effects in some people. if someone doesn't like soy milk or just prefers something else, that's fine, but to perpetuate this myth in an educational video isn't a great look.

Hemp milk is very sugary but it’s good. I remember working at a cafe that only had hemp and soy milk. The hemp was so good and very milk like because of the extra ingredients in it. If you get a hot latte the texture comes out perfect but when you use unsweetened hemp the magic just doesn’t happen. That’s why you’ll never see an unsweetened non dairy milk at a cafe because the sugar helps it make good latte art.

@TruthB Known Phytoestrogens are plant estrogens, which are 1000x weaker than mammalian estrogen. Cows are mammals like us though, so the estrogen in their milk very much affects us! @@etude83: _"… he just said a cup of almond milk only has a handful of almonds in it…"_ - He isn't good at math either. A 2% of a US cup (237 mL) of almond milk isn't a handful of almonds but 4.73 g of almonds, that is, about 3 almonds: almonds.com/sites/default/files/201606almom%5B1%5D.pdf

Samantha Lopez I heard flax is most regular milk like I have yet to try it. so far I like goat milk and grass fed organic whole milk from 🐄 isn’t bad if they must have animal milk. I just can’t justify buying these big sizes. I wish milks came in tester sizes

love most of this video, people below are right about the inaccuracy on Soy. Also, yes, Almond takes a lot of water but it is no where near as bad for environment as cow's milk. If you are comparing to the other milks, sure, you are right. Appreciate you pointing out the milks for toddlers though! I've been figuring that out for ages!

Bobby, thank you so much for doing my homework, now days I just copy your videos and head to the store...you've made my life so much easier and streamline my decision making on those items where I may be split or confused on which is best. I love this video but please do some research on the soy milk estrogen subject. I just learned that the estrogen found in it is quite different and tends to look similar to estrogen, but does the opposite of estrogen

@@HiiiSanti I know I'm 6 months late and you weren't asking me, but my 1 year old has been seeing a gastroenterologist since she was born. I asked her for recommendations on non dairy milk to introduce and she ONLY suggests Ripple pea milk. That's because my baby was a preemie and we are trying to help her grow. Ripple has the highest protein and calories of non dairy milks according to my child's doctor.

I like to make sunflower seed/pumpkin seed milk for regular cereal use (usually use 1 date, VERY rare MAPLE allergy); also for “chocolate” milk- I use 1-2 teaspoon carob powder
