Don't know how much it counts, but just throwing in one just for fun, the Cow Plant from the SiMs might have had some inspiration drawn from the Piranha Plant given that it's an eyeless carnivorous plant with a decorative pattern on its face/head, similar to the Piranha Plant. The only difference is that the Cow Plant lures Sims in with a lure that looks like a slice of birthday cake in its mouth. Also the udder on its chin, which one can milk after it has eaten … yeah it's weird.

In the original Super Mario Bros., Piranha Plants are just Venus Fly Traps. Super Mario Bros 3 introduced the red Piranha Plants that were used in almost every Mario game after it.
