Truly the bane of my existence - I can only do things when I'm under last minute pressure, and coincidentally, that's when I do my best work. I once had to write a 5 page story for a writing class in college, and in the 2 weeks or so I had to do it, I only had a paragraph. A few hours before it was due, I got to actually working and I turned in 9 pages, got an A, and a comment from the teacher wanting a continuation! As if I'd ever be able to do something like that without a deadline lmao

I have to tell on my husband. We found out his Drivers License was expired (and had been for TWO YEARS). Then after procrastinating for almost a year, Covid hit. His license was four years expired. He had to take the test (written AND paper) took him HOURS of time. UGH!

I've heard 3 years is the magical number that you get forced to do the written and road test all over again from a procrastinating person in the city where cars were impractical to keep so they never wanted to waste money to renew it after that they wished they had just spent the money and kept it valid

The DMV lets you renew your tag online now, you’ll get a sticker in the mail. That’s how I did it this year after procrastinating LOL

I feel that Planet Fitness reference. When I finally went in to cancel, the guy checked my account which showed I hadn't been in the gym in 539 days. I told him to count my past monthly fees as a charitable contribution. 😔

I had a friend who paid over $100/month for her gym membership (years ago!) and stopped going after a few weeks. After about a year, she went to cancel it, but there was no parking close to the building, so she left. It took her three months to park close enough to cancel!

When I was in high school I was a teacher for the pre-school that the school provided & got an award at the end of the year for being able to pull a good lesson plan off at the last minute... I always waited until the day before to plan it 😅 Most teachers had theirs done at least a week before! Also the Planet Fitness thing is 100% me 😂 Thanks for the laughs!!

I used to be a huge procrastinator, but I recently started to submit my assignments on time. And let me tell you, it is so much less stressful. Once the assignment is completed, sometimes 2 weeks ahead of time, you can focus on screwing around or whatever without guilt. 10/10

The CUTENESS and relatability. It’s said though (as a supportive mention) by newer researchers that procrastination isn’t always caused by laziness or incompetence. Sure for some ppl it is.. but it can be a combo of overwhelm, too many things to do, and fear. I once infamously did a 15 page term paper the night before it was due which would determine if I failed or passed my college class. No surprise, working on it all night, I overslept the next day. Woke up an hour into class having started, jumped down 6 flights of steps in the dorms, ran like a psycho across campus in my pajamas, got to class, lights were off, I thought I'd failed because it was due before end of class, but I pushed open the door, and there everyone was watching a movie. When did I get this assignment? Two months prior. Did I pass? Sure did, with an A.
