The text with sound thing is a killer. Riding public transit to work in a large city early in the morning and this girl was loud texting non stop when everyone else was extremely quiet so it echoed through the whole space...finally this woman yelled "stop, just make it stop turn your keyboard to silent" and if this was a movie everyone would have applauded instead we all just kind of smiled and gave head nods but the sound was like nails on a chalkboard and I still remember it 10 years later.

I would like to also propose: - the one that is weirdly physical - the one that never stops talking and doesn’t understand how to let a conversation end (or to let you speak) - the one that never breaks eye contact and will make comments like “you have a very deep soul”

I'll be honest, when I'm out for a walk I don't use headphones for safety reasons. I'm a small woman and I like to be aware of my surroundings. But I don't live in a highly populated area, and I always turn it way down when I encounter people. I also hate headphones lol. The big ones make my ears too hot. And the little ones that fit inside my ears are so painful. I have tiny ears and I have yet to find earbuds that actually fit comfortably. But I know it probably does annoy people. I try my best to minimize it as much as possible.

@@SG-xo5ug I'm able to tune out other people talking most of the time, but for some reason a video or music or whatever I can't. I have sensory processing issues though. Like my sister will play KZbin out loud while watching TV and that sounds worse than nails on a chalkboard to me. Too many sounds at once.

I'm not typically this person, but I went to a party once where my friend was like, "I have an announcement to make a little later," and I said soo loudly, "OMG, YOU'RE PREGNANT!!!" and everyone at the party turned around and looked, and then with all eyes on her, she was like, sighhhh, yeah, I am, was going to tell everyone, but now, yeah, I'm pregnant. Thanks.

Doctors’ offices. People using LOUD speaker phone or playing loud kid cartoons/games on their phones without headphones (or at least a lower volume) to occupy their kids in doctors’ offices. Hey, Sheila! Most of the people here feel like crap and don’t want to listen to you kill it on Candy Crush or talk to your sister about your recent colonoscopy. And when I have an ear or sinus infection those loud noises not only annoy, but also hurt!

My mom is a bit hard of hearing, so even though she isn't doing the speaker phone in public, her phone volume is just. So. Loud. Ringer crazy loud, you can hear every word of the other half of the conversation, and then she just talks 3 times as loud when she's on the phone as when she's not. At least if she's on the phone with my sisters I get a nice life update by proxy! Saves them from calling me 🤣

My pet peeves. Extreme PDA. Borderline R rated stuff. "Get a room!" Also couples who flaunt their relationships in public. Sugary sweet lovey stuff. Also men publicly touching and rubbing on their wives or girlfriends in a way that should be saved for the bedroom. I don't wanna see that! Especially when I'm trying to eat my meal in peace.

I used to work at the airport and the bane of my existence then was the couples that would make out on the front curb when saying goodbye. Like, your flight leaves in an hour; you do not have time for this. Nor does anyone want to see it. I once saw a couple do that at the gate and then got on the same flight. 🙄

It may not even be R rated, but if you're in a public space, please, kindly, graciously, acknowledge that there are humans around you. Break eye contact with each other once in a while, long enough to see the rest of the world.

I feel called out with the foot in mouth one. Too many times have I just said something and immediately afterwards regretted it. I particularly remember this one time when I was like 13 at a friend's house in the neighbourhood and I said to him like "Hey do you remember those stupid street parties we used to have? Who even organised those like what was even the point of it?" And then found out that it was his family who was nearby who had organised almost all of them. I don't think that one will ever be out of my mind. I don't get how other people don't do that all the time like how can you expect me to know these things?

Totally left out the bad manners/loud eaters. I went on a date with a guy who was so funny, we were having a good time, and dinner came. I have never seen a grown man with manners that bad in a restaurant. He was smacking so loud, which I’d be lying if I said that wasn’t a huge pet peeve of mine, but that’s one thing. He not only licked his fingers, but was sucking his fingers clean. People were staring from other tables, my little boy has better table manners. I try really hard not to judge people, just move past things that may get on my nerves a bit, but I couldn’t deal with it. I was trying to cover my ears from the loud smacking noises. There are bad manners and then there are zero manners.
