GM ☕️🍩 I’m currently going through my record collection..weeding out multiple copies (and keeping the best one) and poor pressings ( muddy )…especially in Canada ..some labels are consistently bad..☹️ Have I made a few discoveries..yes and they bring back memories with them. Have a great week.

What fun ! I do this at home every year or so!! I’ve sold my collection a couple of times the last time about five years ago to help with doctor bills! So do i know regret you bet! At one time I had every charted lp and single! Missing only a fewc weird ones like the 45 can you spare a match! My current collection is up to 5k including cds tapes etc! My equipment has been with me forever including Bose speakers of various flavors! Love your channel keep up the fantastic work!

And this is your A-game? Dude! No Abba, no Alan Parsons Project (must have), no ABC, AC/DC, Arcade Fire, Apocalyptica, Tori Amos, no Adele, no Air (Moon Safari, absolute lonely island disc)? The Animals, A-Ha, Jon Anderson? Joan Armatrading, Asia, The Art of Noise? And why don't you have Herp Alberts Whipped Cream? Gotta love that cover! Fun idea, there are so many names that are almost forgotten. And so many just dumped their LP's in the 80-ies. I never did. I picked them up cheap. Thats why i have about 10k now. 😊 PS: Oh, hey, what about numbers, like 10cc? 😂

Reckless is a great album! I’ve always been a big Bryan Adams fan. I actually still have his greatest hits CD that I bought like 25 years ago. So far, I have held onto my CD collection of over 30 years. I think I have about 500 discs at this point.

Warren is indirectly responsible for my marriage. My wife, and I still dont know how, got me into a sold out gig in a bar in Vail, Colorado, despite really not liking Warren, but knowing he was my musical hero. After that I knew I had to marry her.

@@UnitedStatesofAnalog lol, we've talked about the UK days, but I wasn't there when they were. It's good music to groove to at times. I did my time at ASL in the late 70s, and RAFL as a "grown up'. Good times.

Quick question Bob…. I see that you alphabetize your LPs like most, but my question do you go by the artist name or by group name? Example like Alice Cooper, would that be under A’s or the C’s ? I know everybody does it different. I was just curious on how you would file those differences ?
@UnitedStatesofAnalogАй бұрын
You'll see Alice cooper in the C's... but that is technically wrong. Thanks for kicking in my OCD!!!

I grew up with record players what you are talking about is to people who had a record player you cannot tell a newbie who never had record player to get the turntables and amps, speakers that are expensive thats crazy what if they are not sure about this hobby there are some TT's that have built in speakers that have full sound something thats good for a beginner like angels horn ,1 by one they have units that have a good bass response mag cart ,hopefully they might listen to me and put in separate bass and treble controls but thats another time ,even the lowly crosely is not bad if you know about the audio game you should know that records were made to take 9 grams of tracking force if they had to ,I know suit case players sound flat I know that but they will not damage records period and people with shaky hands can buy a automatic record player there are some good units out there that are fully auto,with built in speakers that sound great they also have magnetic carts a newbie can spend at least 200.00 or slightly more for a full sounding unit with out going broke and of course you forgot to mention if you have shaky hands there is always the cueing lever which a lot of those high end TT's have so I do not know hat you are talking about first no disrespect is intended here but you talk like only rich people have the right to records but I do not live in a world where 30 to 50 dollar records is the norm it is not, there are a lot of good artists out there with great albums but to spend 30 dollars when growing up records were 8 dollars average thats too high it has taken me years to get my turntables some had to be fixed which I was lucky to repair but to spend 500.00 or more for a manual TT which is made in china nothing against china but you have many high TT makers having the turntables made over there to save on cost but to charge high prices ,Fluance is one they make beautifull TT's and charge a high price for them when there are other name brands that look and are built the same but are half the price even Fluance's beginner TT is around 250.00 not bad but when you go up to a higher price of the Fluance brand the higher end TT's look the same as the starter TT with only a few minor differences ,note i agree with some of the things you said like records are not pressed well at times yes that happened a lot when i was growing up you had to buy the fisrt issue of a album to at least hope it was not pressed badly it happened more after the second or third but for the price they are charging for the record it better sound perfect don't give these greedy record makers a way to produce badly pressed records I have bought some new records at 180 grams which they love to boast about but I bought one that was 180 grams really warped and the edges were sharp that I got a paper cut from one of them that was a 35.00 copy and playing that album on my manual pro-ject debut 3 it could not handle the slight warp it had but when I placed them on my dual 1009sk,BSR yes the infamous BSR 610 with the adjustable counter weight and dual 1237 ,garrard autoslim mpk 2 they played fine all tracking at 2 grams or less except for the garrard which is at 3 grams so for those prices they better make them perfect !!!!! I do not want to hear it ,like I said I saw your vid 6 ways to make tt sound better I enjoyed that very much most of them I do already I know not to expect a response ,if I had my own youtube channel I could tell everybody how to really enjoy the record hobby as a hobby not a sport you do not have to be an audiophile which I was one many years ago the most idiotic audiofool ever !!!!!! please no disrespect intended JRo

Not sure about this. 28 videos of someone else’s record collection is a LOT, even if it’s Bob’s. Not only that, but my record collection is currently 7,414 miles away, so I can’t even compare. That being said: No Amboy Dukes? Or did that go away with the first defenestration of your collection?
