What most people don’t know about the 10 plagues that God inflicted on Egypt is that they weren’t just some random thing with no thought behind them. Each one was an attack against a god of the Egyptians. Every Egyptian god was believed to have a specific power or offer a specific type of protection. Each plague was aim at one of those powers or protections and was a direct repudiation of that god’s specific power/protection.

If you read revelation. It’s the same thing in the sense that it’s a direct attack on people’s false doctrines. God told us that the universe will never fail, yet people believe that meteors will destroy the earth into oblivion. God will hit the earth with meteors but his planet will remain. The believe hyper climate change and that’s also one of the judgements

I guess old interviews from Heaven's Metal magazine is the best we are ever gonna get. I recenly re-read the interview by Doug Van Pelt with Dave Mustaine before he got saved. "40" by U2 is taken directly from the Psalm #40: 'I waited patiently for the Lord; and he inclined unto me, and heard my cry. He brought me up also out of an horrible pit, out of the miry clay, and set my feet upon a rock, and established my goings. And he hath put a new song in my mouth, even praise unto our God: many shall see it, and fear, and shall trust in the Lord.' Compare to the U2 lyrics: 'I waited patiently for the Lord He inclined and heard my cry He lift me up out of the pit Out of the miry clay I will sing, sing a new song ... How long to sing this song? ... You set my feet upon a rock You made my footsteps firm Many will see, many will see and hear'

Unfortunately, U2 is not a Christian band in any way. Bono (Paul Hewson) is a Left Wing social activist who is very Antichristian in most of his beliefs. He also idolized MLK, who was a filthy adulterer who had many kids out of wedlock, slept with prostitutes (according to his best and closest friend) and preached a social Gospel. MLK never preached Salvation by Jesus alone or repentance for sins. He just focused on skin colour issues. Adam Clayton is a nominal Catholic, Larry Mullen believes in God but doesn't really care to follow Him, and the Edge (Dave Evans) doesn't either. If you listen to "Still Haven't Found What I'm Looking For," it's Bono proclaiming that Jesus and His forgiveness are not enough, and Bono is still empty and dissatisfied.

You are being deceived . Carnal music Is rebellion . AB’s what is rebellion ? Rebellion is witchcraft according to the Bible . Lenny is a spiritualist . He is not a Christian . Is into new age living a life that doesn’t k know God. He shouldn’t be praised or admired for his music . You need to repent and hunger for a deeper relationship with God
@comeandseejesus73692 ай бұрын
@@Luke91633 I don't know Lenny Kravitz personally, although I was in a film with his daughter playing the lead role. From the sounds of what Professor says, this song was written about Jesus. Yes if Lenny is into witchcraft or any other medium than Jesus, then yes it is rebellion. But apparently "Are you gonna go my way" is not. I don't derive any spiritual walk with Christ by Lenny Kravitz, but if he claims Christianity or writes songs about the Lord, then I pray Jesus will draw him closer to him. Also there are records un Mark 9:39 of diciples in the Bible reporting that one who was not with them was doing the Lords work wrongly by casting out denons but Jesus said "Do not stop him, for no one who does a mighty work in my name will be able soon afterward to speak evil of me.". I'm not saying Lenny Kravitz is right or wrong, but a step closer to Jesus is a step closer. Many of our sins are worked out slowly, and some instantly. I do no believe or receive that I was deceived, I have one Lord and Savior Jesus Christ and to him only am I accountable ultimately. Let's pray that Lenny Kravitz will find a truer walk with the Lord and abandon useless and harmful spiritual practices if he is indeed doing them. Thank you for your commitment.

@ i see your point in all of this . I am a little harsh because I understand the music what it did to me and certain elements that most people don’t pick up. I at times have the ability by the Holy Spirit can hear a song instrumental wise and sense that particular spirit behind it. As a believer in God I am aware who the rules the music here on earth and its purpose . At times I thought about writing a book on this subject . The last few years I battle to articulate anything. And as a creative writer I can’t structured in a book format writing sense . So I don’t know . There are many artist who mixed faith or spirituality in there music. Prince was one of them . Madonna was another . This can be deceived to be accepted by so many people who have some faith in God. I no longer listen to music . I only observe to learn the culture what it’s doing and changing people for the worse . Artist like Beyoncé, Ariana Grande, Lady Ga Ga , Taylor Swift just to name a few , are all into the cult and practice witchcraft

U2's catalog is loaded with songs dripping with biblical and spiritual references. The best ones that come to mind are "Until the End of the World," which is about Jesus, the last supper, and Judas, "Daddy's Going to Pay for Your Crashed Car," which basically is a gospel song about God offering to pay for your sins, and of course...."40." There are many others, too.

I remember first reading the lyrics to _Where the Streets Have No Name_ and... _Whoa!_ I've since read that Bono was inspired during a trip Ethiopia that caused him to reflect on how the names of things divide us, but he said he was trying to sketch a feeling - about divisions via that trip, but potentially religious, potentially other topics, like romantic - so that the song was open ended without a specific meaning. Whatever his intentions, whether he knew it or not, "Where the Streets Have No Name" is essentially an explicit reference to mysticism (which almost definitionally holds that ultimate reality defies capture by language & human reason). In that light, the lyrics then read perfectly as a metaphorical yearning for the mystical/divine from the mundane world, a world whose mortal turmoil makes maintaining love difficult. Given that Bono's a Christian, it's not hard to guess who's accompanying him on that journey in the lines _"And when I go there, I go there with you. It’s all I can do"._ Given the passion of the singing and the music's overall epic mood (the driving intensity, the ecstatic release, and that otherworldly intro & outro), it's impossible for me to avoid interpreting it that way. Not that it matters, but I'm a committed atheist, so I have no bias or hope to force a religious interpretation on the song. It just strikes me that that's exactly what it is. Anyway, I was very surprised - and impressed - that a song superficially about a longing for a desert vacation could metaphorically work so perfectly as something *_entirely_* different.

"Until The End of the World" was written for the Wim Wenders film of the same name about the last days on Earth before a planetary scale nuclear disaster. Bono often referenced Biblical figures and tropes but rarely does so in a hit you over the head with it proselytizing way. If you want a U2 Jesus song, also check out "The Three Sunrises" or even "Sunday Bloody Sunday".

How about Kansas' "Dust in the Wind", which thematically could also come straight from the Book of Ecclesiastes? And then there's the Hooters' "All You Zombies", with verses about Noah and Moses. Other favourites of mine are Sister Janet Mead's "The Lord's Prayer", The Singing Nun's "Dominique", The Brotherhood of Man's "Put Your Hand in the Hand", and P. Diddy's "My Best Friend". And then of course everything from Dylan's "Saved" and "Soul Train" albums. And those are just the tip of the iceberg. Like you say, there really is so much out there!

"Turn! Turn! Turn!" is always going to be the most special out of these 5 for me personally. I'm sure that I first heard it when I was seven or eight, although I didn't associate it with The Byrds until I first learned thr name at age 10, and it wasn't until I was in my late teens before I learned it originated when Pete Seeger set that passage of Ecclesiastes to music. My mentor often mentioned how the Byrds' harmonies brought him to tears, and I always understood why. To invoke a recent, widespread colloquialism, I was today years old when I learned that Lenny intended for "Are You Gonna Go My Way" to be sung from the angle of Christ. I always thought it was about how people didn't think he had a defined sound of his own and he was trying to nail one down.

Turn, Turn Turn is my favorite. It really sums it all up. When you're young, you delve into many things and pick up things here and there that seem to have some kind of foundation or truth. As you grow older, or experience unexplainable things, if you haven't been spiritually desensitized, the froth is blown away by the winds of change, and you start to realize most of it is pretty shaky ground. The central message of Ecclesiastes is laid out in a phrase that is repeated several times throughout--"all is vanity."
