and for even more functionality with your egress window you can drill holes for a pin at various points along the metal arm so you can lock the window open at various points, eg just open an inch to get a little fresh air in.

Thanks Jerad - I LOVE the lag bolt idea - sometimes packed gravel is too hard to hammer a "tent peg" into - I've bent/broken a bunch of them. - Cheers!

Great ideas again! I would only add that putting a small tag or piece of material on the end of the clip to make it easier to grab and pull out. When seconds count it could make the difference in an emergency. Love the channel.

The RV back-flush technique, which I've used for years, also works to help unblock a blocked black tank. Close the Valterra valve at the end. Open both the black and gray tank valves. After they equalize (I usually just count to 10) open the Valterra valve and THEN close the gray valve. A siphon is created in the black tank, sucking the gunk out of the black tank. With a full gray tank you can usually do this back-flush 2 or 3 times.

Thanks, we have actually had the bedroom window come open going down the road and I used your idea of a velcro cable wrap. I like the clip!! I actually installed the Valtera end valve the first time I saw it and as you've said it brings peace of mind anytime I dump. I have never thought of the back flush and thats a great idea. I won't be the guy at the dump station holding up the line and many hydrants at dump stations have short cut off hoses that won't attach to the black tank flush necessitating taking that hose off and put my hose on just taking more time. Thanks again !!

Thanks so much, Jared--we've had troubles with that egress window latch both in our camper and now in our fifth-wheel, and have tried putting tape around it, a rubber band, but nothing made us feel completely secure about it. I think we're going to try your cotter-pin idea for sure! Thanks again, and please keep these coming!

Love the idea of using lag bolts for the carpet, but I would have used a small quick release pin instead of a goofy cotter/R pin for the emergency exit… The quick release pin will only require one hole, and would probably be easier to remove in case of emergency..

I had similar concerns about the pin. From all reports (glad never needed to) you may have seconds to get out that window, while sleepy and panicking.

I backflush my black with the gray water by simply raising the flex line above the level of the tanks. It involves no hardware added. I do this two or three times on each dump. I check to make sure I have a good connection before I dump. And make my hose as long as I can before hand to make sure it moves in the direction I want. I've not had a problem with anything coming loose, which could happen in any event.

I am currently in transition from an off-road pop up, to a 27' travel trailer, but many of the places I still anticipate spending time are not amenable to tent stakes or screws. I have two pieces of artificial turf that I overlap by approximately 12" and park my wheel on them both. The front and rear ends of each respective piece are then extended beneath the stabilizer jacks/jack pads, and this then completes the trailer side of the turf. The outer center edge is usually held down by a large dog water bowl, and large rocks are used at the corners. Just have to watch your step on those late night potty trips. 😆

You can use another fuse to remove the fuse in the panel. Take another fuse hold it vertically, you will notice a the blade is more narrow near the body, this will slide over the body of the other fuse allowing you to pull it out.

Did you make that waste valve permanent? screwed or glued on?
@Autistic_train_set
@Autistic_train_set 2 ай бұрын
They make them with the normal 4 prong attachment. So goes on as easy as connecting a hose. It will spin free so a wrap of duct tape once you get it in the right orientation is a good idea. Otherwise its a bit of a pain to remove the hose having to hold the gate and twist the hosr off. They also make a glue on version, but think removeable one is better.
@luminousveiws

I tried glue but now put small screws both to secure and to stop the spinning.

I do this every time. Soap is good for the black tank. 1. Empty Black tank but don't close it's valve. I also have an internal flush that I leave running the whole time. 2. Close end valve (Valtera add-on). 3. Open Gray tank. I can hear the water rushing around, or just count to 10. 4. Close Gray tank. 5. Open end valve. If you have a clear section you can see how brown the water is. 6. Repeat as desired.

I have always wondered why, people use the dump station, when if you are at a full hook up site, you can back flush your tanks ,both black and grey ,right there. Job done ... That is how I have done for years with the Camco tank flush valve. Am I wrong for doing that at the camp site?
