The bug zappers are great. I bought a 3 pack at Costco 5 years ago (Harbor Freight didn't have them back then), and they are still going strong. I hang them on my awning and use them instead of the awning light to keep the bugs away from the door. Never thought about bringing them inside, I am going to have to do that this season!
@AllAboutRVs8 ай бұрын
Nice! Glad to know they have been working for you for so long.

We have done the same with the bug zappers inside. We have not, that I recall, have had issues with bugs when we sleep since doing so. We recommend it to everyone.

I made up a tool kit for our couple's camper with just about everything from HF. fuses, tape fasteners, multimeter, wire, clamps and a multi-tool all fit in a small tool box. Very handy.

We use the water filter and the flashlight. I'd like to try the water pump...for water... and get the lanterns for grandkids. They LOVE having their own lights. The bug zapper in the camper would be nice. I spend a great deal of time smashing bugs on the ceiling before going to bed. Thanks for the ideas!

Finally, the bug zapper has made it to a store. I found one in a Walmart in east Texas about two years ago in a display that implied it was something they were testing. Haven't seen it since and have wanted to get another one. The bug zapper does work, and I use the light instead of a flashlight inside the house. Only thing different is mine is orange, not black. The one unhappy feature is that it takes hours to recharge, but I guess that's a good thing cause it means it has a large battery. I can confirm I get at least the 20 hours mentioned here.

I have some of those rechargeable pull lights. So far so good they seem to work great and last a very long time in between charges if I don't use them. I am very interested in the bug zapper mainly for that reason of having it up and running inside the RV. I have a large corded one for the outside but it's not feasible obviously to bring inside. Great idea thanks!

Ive used that bug zapper like you, just inside my rv to zap the skeeters before I go to bed. It really works! And that light feature is all I need to get ready for bedtime, saving my rig batteries.

I've had the bug zapper for over a year and used it regularly to kill off the bugs that manage to get inside the camper. Walmart sells the same device. It works very well for what I use it for

My current favorite Harbor Freight tools are my extending ratchet and breaker bar. I have a nicer ratchet, but having the adjustable angle head and being able to extend it for extra leverage is nice.

I've got a box of those same gloves too. Great for if I have to work on anything greasy or deal with chemicals. I don't use them for dumping just because I have to really fight the twist locks sometimes and I've ripped thin rubber gloves before. I have a pair of waterproof vinyl gloves for that task that won't tear.

I’ve had a couple of the small lanterns for our overland adventures for 3 years with no failures as of yet. I’ve gone through a few of the blue magnetic lights, not because the lights have failed but because I’ve broken them from my carelessness. At less than 2$ a pop or free during promotions I’ve usually got one or two floating around. Good video.

I have one of the bug zapper/light that I got from Menards. They are exactly alike. I love mine! Great bright light for when I have to take the dog out. They also fit down inside of the cup holder on your camping chair. With the zapper up you can enjoy a nice cup of hot chocolate in the evening without being bothered by bugs. Oh, yes, they are made so you can just wash the bugs out.

I struggled with those lady beetles this year too. I vacuumed a few thousand out from between my slide seals before moving the slide in, at a couple of campsites. But no matter how well I got them out of every nook and cranny I could find, I'd still have at least 1 or 2 in the bathroom every morning, crawling around on the shower skylight wanting to get to the sun.

I have all of these HF products for our RV except the tote, and couldn't agree more with the utility. Some of the most useful stuff comes up as freebies or steep discounts are the things like bungee cords, zip ties, and don't forget the little lights that double as road hazard lights - every RV'er should have a half dozen of those!

Good video. What’s your thoughts on this? While driving, turn off the propane tank. Then plug in the AC 110 plug into a 12 volt to 110 volt inverter connected to the house battery ( that technically are being recharged by the engine alternator) thereby eliminating the chance of a propane fire. This would only be used while driving. Could run a generator but that burns extra gasoline. And if one have Solar, that too on a sunny drive will also keep the batteries charged/ topped off and the refrigerator running even at max if necessary.

Whether you get them from Harbor Freight or Amazon those rubber wheel chocks should be standard equipment for all RVers. In fact if the big name that makes those plastic ones said "We know these suck and we're going to stop making them" I'd actually be more inclined to buy more of their products. The battery powered bug zapper is a nifty idea and I think the tactic to use it overnight to grab the bugs that follow you into the rig is a terrific application - curious to see if it lasts the summer.

A couple of comments. The table looks nice. Will go look to buy. I use the gloves when working on my vehicles. I have never worn gloves for dumping, etc. Never an issue. Have owned motorhomes since 1979. Water filters. I have had motorhomes with filters, but don't go out of my way to filter. Municipalities spend many of our bucks to provide good water at the faucet. On the same subject, we do not buy bottled water and use the water from our water tank. Refer back to 1979.

That little lantern was a life saver for us. Not in the RV, but on a trip to do some maintenance on the VRBO property. Tennessee storm blew in and knocked out all power. Turns out their power outages last days! The only light we had was that little lantern. At night, we had to huddle around it to play cribbage or chat. Complete darkness otherwise. Needless to say, candles were purchased and a bigger lantern. Lanterns! Bought a few of them….

I'm new to RV ownership... just bought a 2017 Highland Ridge Open Range Light 272RLS. Haven't actually taken possession of it yep. Dealership is fixing a couple things. But I've started collecting gear that I'll need. I almost went with the heavy rubber chocks (on their Black Friday sale) but I've been trying to be weight conscious since I hear how easy it is to get overweight... everything adds up. So I've opted for the much lighter plastic chocks. Will I regret that choice? Seems like they should do the job fine. If they're snug under the wheels they're not gonna blow away. If you're careful you shouldn't be rolling over them and crushing them. If they don't work great I guess I can always get the heavier ones later. Just seemed like a good option to save on weight. 4 of those solid rubber ones ain't light...
