"The Unseen" was the album that broke open not only the world of Madlib, but Dilla, DOOM, Stones Throw, and so many others in the world of real rap for me, and for that I can't be thankful enough. This is probably the best uses of sampling in hip hop ever. The way Madlib easily implements them into the album is so amazing. Like its almost like he knew what sounds he wanted to hear and crafted them together so perfectly. And the fact he made this while he was high is also just impressive and hilarious

God i love this album so much. its so unique, weird, cartoony, hilarious and otherworldly at times and the samples, beats, Madlib and Quas going back and fourth on verses, the dense sampling and quirky beats and the overall atmosphere and sound like straight from a looney tunes cartoon and i just dig it so much. its definitely one of my favorite albums of all time and ill never get tired of it. also that blame game melvin sample fits in so perfectly i swear it sounds like something from a cartoon Edit: This is my favorite album of all time. This album is timeless!

Ya Mama tricked by the pound to buy that ounce! RIP Melvin P. This is one of the most bizarre, dope, odd, beautiful, innovative, and most rebellious Hip-Hop/Rap album of all time. Shoutout to Peanut Butter Wolf for pushing Madlib to release it because he had no intention of releasing it to the public and is well known Madlib has tons of completed albums he has created for his own personal use. I remember him doing a interview where he spoke on a Beat Konducta tape he created using Prince music. I can only imagine how dope that is considering how productive and talented Prince was and to have Madlib put his own spin on it.
