So glad that youre enjoying it way more in later listens 🤗👌👌(:) it's that kind of album, and at that, its so great, it takes over you,,, and i love that 👌love the iconicity in each track, how each song has a different color, letssayxD, the comic vibe, the meta fueled into the lyricism, how all this in a full album makes this extra abstract trip, how that goes along with the idea/lore xD madvillain gets in your brain with his rhymes and destroys it. But well xD 🫂🙏💗loved hearing along as always, im a great fan of this album, and of your reactions of horse xDd☺️❤️💕 My favs definetely Eye / All Caps & Great Day, super bouncy just goood album 🤗 thank u for listening it path!¡ ❣️have a great day 👌(xDseewhatididthere) ok thats that 🙏 god bless, take care xxD 👋👋💗

Path, you have absolutely no idea the absolute GRIP this album has on people aged 25-35 years old. For many of us, this was our first introduction to rap music that wasn't club music. A lot of us couldn't understand what he was saying, but...we felt it? It was a type of sound that many of us had never heard before. It really was a door for more non mainstream music for many of us.

Idk if anyone commented about this, but the sample for Raid (America Latina - Osmar Milito) isnt a 4/4 beat, but has a 3/4 time signature. and the way that madlib samples it so interesting and cool, he fills the empty spaces within the sample which creates that distinct chop. Madlibs sampling is so cool

this is one of the greatest pieces of art to ever happen to music, not just hip hop. genuinely breaks the boundaries of all time of music, plus it had the same effect as Illmatic had when that dropped because when everyone saw how insane DOOM’s rapping was, everyone else just said “aight nah, I need to step up my game” even though these projects are drastically different, the money store by death grips is what I consider the dystopian madvillainy. instead of the humor in the complex world play, it’s replaced with vile, pure manic and evil lines of some of the most brutal things any man has ever said, all paired with, while overloading in terms of how industrial and all over the place they are, earworm-esque instrumentals. it’s just pure animalistic energy, it is not a fun project, just pure brutality. and yet somehow it’s not even the most brutal project death grips as made LOL. I’d HIGHLY suggest trying out the money store for a more insane and mindblowing experience, even though I do prefer madvillainy over it. just a suggestion :D

While I’ve considered Madvillainy as my favorite album for a while now, watching you react to this entire album makes me respect the album even more since I forgot how actually amazing it was. And what’s even more impressive is that a demo of the album was originally stolen and leaked to the point where they worked on the album again. Really goes to show how talented MF DOOM and Madlib can be without even mentioning it.

Just found your channel about an hour ago and have been binging your videos since. You have instantly become one of if not my favorite music reaction channel. I cannot express how much I appreciate the time and energy you out to not only dissecting albums, but going into detail about the real life context of the artist’s state of mind during the time they made the project. Beyond impressed 🔥

I really like how you edited this with your well-formed thoughts dropped in after the fact. It's a kind of happy medium between a reaction video and a more structured analysis. Quite different than other reaction videos which can get kinda 'sludgy'. 👍

@@reggiejones907 bro normally I'm not sad with famous actors or artists that pass away but for MF DOOM it was sad because we have no idea who he is behind the character you know. I wished for an album about him personally as Daniel Dumile. Its like having a real character that disappeared all of a sudden.

@@wii240 I just don’t listen to those artists as much besides Kendrick and I ironically don’t like TPAB. If it’s a “classic” I probably don’t like it. I’m not trying to be different, I’m just really dense and if I have to think too hard I won’t enjoy the music. I liked half of the albums you mentioned though. For context, these are albums I love: - Die Lit - 17 - ? - WLR - Illmatic - Live Love ASAP - Long Live ASAP - All Hope is Gone I’ll welcome any recommendations. I am ironically not a picky person. My favourite acts include XXX (obviously), Playboi Carti, Blackpink, Le Sserafim, Slipknot, Muse…

What makes this album great is just how they followed no rules on this project. It’s so abstract it’s so raw and authentic and fulfills everything a listener of hip hop would want to hear. Almost like the epitome of what hip hop can be as a genre. MM..FOOD goes even further into DOOMs mind as to how he can take a concept and bring you into his world while keeping the listener entertained with the concept. Also you’ll learn different facts about food..

If you want to really get into DOOM's writing style I suggest you watch a few lyrical breakdowns of some of his songs. Accordian is an incredibly dense one full of obscure references. Vox Earworm has a great video explaining DOOM's rhyme style. Also listening to his other projects helps you get used to his style for sure, coming back to Madvillainy after listening to Take Me To Your Leader and MM Food really made that album way better somehow haha.

I just found out about this channel. One word: Masterful. Beautifully crafted videos, with a unique style I have never seen before, making me feel a certain way about the albums I have listened to as if I haven’t listened to them in my life. I own vinyl records of DAMN and other Kendrick Lamar albums and your content made me want to listen to it all of again. Very well thought out reviews that you have made. You also make videos on albums I haven’t listened / have not wanted to listen to, so I want to look into some of those. As for album recommendations I’d recommend Blond by Frank Ocean, Culture II by Migos, and MM…FOOD by MF DOOM. Music has changed my life and going into freshman year in a few days I will continue to live by the values I have learned through music. Will be watching more of this soon. Much love and peace on Earth.

Fun fact: MF DOOM is British. It’s really an ASAP Rocky situation where he was brought to America before he could be vocally colonized, but it still counts and I would like to say he LAPS Skepta easily.

Yoooooooo, glad you enjoyed it! It was fun watching your reaction and hearing your insights! You were able to articulate a lot of the reasons why I too enjoy this albums in ways I never could personally. If you enjoyed Madlibs more jazzy breakdowns on this album might I recommend his earlier albums "Angles Without Edges" under his pseudonym Yesterday's New Quintent (mentioned in Bistro), as well as "Shades of Blue: Madlib Invades Blue Note". The song "Stepping into Tomorrow" still haunts me in the best way possible and is an excellent starting point. Also Mm.. Food! Is my personal favorite MF DOOM album and I would love to see you react to it! There are so many damn jokes that I missed my first listen through. Realizing what Poo-Putt Platter was really about literally had in tears. RIP to the Supervillain. Literally a mad fucking genius.
