Thank you so much for making this tutorial! I grew up playing Zoo Tycoon as a kid on the computer but haven't played it in over 15 years. I see people talking about the console edition and the PC edition. And I wanted to say that I have both and tell you which I choose.. I have a PS5 and the PC version. I love the way you can navigate the camera with the joysticks on the PS5, but everything else is so much better on PC. I like how you can easily search (with keyboard) build elements, I like how you can micro detail the barriers and path, which gets really hard if not impossible in the console edition. I started with the PS5, fell in love, and tried the PC version, and found my soul game! I am having a hard time navigating the camera with the mouse, but I will get the hang of it eventually. It is well worth it. In fact, I just bought a new gaming computer (expensive) to play the game without any lags, since my laptop cannot handle it so much. If you are deciding which you should buy, I recommend the PC version overall.

Awesome vid. There are a lot of weird things that I noticed on console. For example, I have a fence at 2.0 meters, and I have height increments of .1, but as soon as I try to adjust the height, it goes to x.x6

I don't think you can change barrier height to a 100th of a meter, so all my barriers are in 6 100th increments. Please correct me if I'm wrong. It's killing me with my ocd, lol.

Amazing video! Playing Planet Zoo on PC makes it a bit more easier to get into the Console version. One point which is a bit annoying: there are so many path colors/patterns. When searching for those used in the park, it would be nice to see them first, because it is no fun to scroll through all colors/patterns.

for some reason I've noticed that I cannot rename animals in franchise mode on PS5. Im not sure if it's a bug or standard that you aren't able to rename animals in that game mode, It works fine in career and challenge mode. I've also noticed that sometimes when you pull up heat maps for underground exhibits it crashes your game, so for anyone out there that digs out their area before setting up their barriers keep that in mind.

What a great guide! The plant info was exactly what I was looking for. Your method did the trick for me, I can finally put the right plants in the exhibits. So thanks a bunch for that! Question about the barrier section. When you are showing how the height of the barrier works, the 2.0m is so much bigger in your game than in mine. And I mean the actual text "2.0m". For me it is so small I can't read the height at all. How did you get it the size it shows for you? I hope you understand what I mean, because this is really annoying in my game. Anyways great kickoff to your PZ Console series, looking forward to all the goodies you are going to bring✌🏾🦖

Hey idk who else to ask for help with this: I was trying to make a full-zoo terrain blueprint thats a single huge mountain but whenever I place it the game crashes. I tried cutting it into quarters but got a "save operation failed" error when trying to save it. Do you have a solution or workaround for large terrain blueprints?

In the console version , can you edit the bottom of fences ? Like the height ? It says in the help section you can

you should - you can switch the fence mode in the settings, and when you have the undulating one it should work

Hi Rudi. Huge fan first time caller.. can you tell me do you have a username or any assets uploaded onto the frontier workshop for console? I am really struggling to find any of your stuff on there. Hope you are doing great! It's so sad that the console players as far as i can tell cannot access the steam workshop items and it is not centralised.

This is a massively long video. I understand the basics. I'm struggling with landscaping. Making mountains and stuff look real. Do you cover that in this video? I've dumped 100s of hours in other map editors like farcry. So I'm familiar with how to do it. Just can't get it looking right with these tools. Clearly I'm doing sonething wrong. I'd also love to see you make a riverbed. Another thing I struggle with. There isn't a good paint or a lot of rock options

I'm having an issue with one of my habitats. 1 habitat brakes every time it gets fixed within 10 seconds. My other habitats will last for a while and then they break. It's really starting to annoy me anyone else experiences bug?

You can change the value of animal ageing in the menu tho. So they age 5 times slower for example
