Can I break 90? - EVERY SHOT IN 14 MINUTES
A round of golf at Rhos-on-Sea golf course. It's a par 68 hole course that is not too tough and good for high handicappers such as myself.
I'm James, a golfer with a dodgy swing now playing off a 19 handicap. I had taken 3 golf lessons to improve my swing on the day of play. I previously was struggling with a straight left miss a lot which accounts for a 2 month break from recording course vlogs (lots of lost balls!).
I'm looking to continuously 90 after taking some golf lessons. Even if I don't shoot a good score I always enjoy strolling around the fairways of North Wales, UK :-)

Great playing man - played very solid. One of the things I've learned the hard way in golf is this: Don't follow a bad shot with another bad shot. This is what happened to you when you went quad/triple back to back. It's so important to regain composure and play the simplest shot possible to get you back in the hole. Fantastic golf though in general - something to think about for the future is scoring your round as per stableford scores with your handicap in mind. I think you had 40 points today, which is a fantastic & 4 strokes better than your handicap. Keep it up man, loving the content - no bullshit, just honest golf - refreshing to see.

this was great. i'm just getting back to golf after 10 years. and when playing regular the lads had me off 19hc. we were very similar for some club distances. i was pretty tidy within wedge range to and with putter. hit the 7 and 8 irons further but more erratic than you. about the same with woods used to carry 220 with driver when hitting it well. i played again last year because my back was getting better after seeing a ciro but still couldnt swing without pain. the 3 rounds i played last year i was still nice and tidy in wedge range and with a putter. guess you never really lose your touch. back is all better now been on the range to test it out the last two weeks. but cant hit anything. think i've almost sussed out the faults. hitting exact same sports on club faces(toe). thought i would look for similar hc video to see what i looked like on video, surprised just how similar lolz. gg's you deserve a sub.

You really remind me of the old me when you swing. If you don't want advice then please stop reading :)... and good luck in the future. I'm not sure if your instructor has done a mobility test with you, If he hasn't and nothing seems to hinder you then he needs to teach you how to turn properly. You have a decent short game and this is mainly due to the fact that you don't have to swing past half way. In your full shots you get to half way and you stop turning but the club just gets behind. Now you've created no leverage for the shot so your brain say's "I need some power" So you end up throwing the club over the top and throw your arms at the ball, Hence why you have a slice. I don't want to be 1 of those arm chair golfers but like I said you remind me of myself. You'd probably find if you did a half swing you'd score much lower and you probably wouldn't lose any distance. Continue with those lessons and dedicate time to the range and work on what you have been taught. Again good luck in the future.

There was a time if I shot 4-5-6 over on the front nine I pretty much knew I was going to shoot 4-5-6 over par on the back nine. Now days if I have an incredible front nine (1-2-3+) the back nine (7-8-9+) always makes up for it. Why is that? The handicap never ever lies. L8

@stepkycopky9354
@stepkycopky9354 2 жыл бұрын
I noticed that you marked him down as hitting his driver LEFT on the 6 hole, when in actually fact, he did ANOTHER BIG fade/slice, and he appeared to aim his feet and club, LEFT, over the right hand RED woman’s tee marker. His shot actually seemed to start beautifully straight for where he was aiming. Did you align him there, or did he deliberately aim out of bounds knowing that his slice will put him in the middle of the fairway? Having said all of that, I would have marked his card as hitting the ball RIGHT again, as I think that is his obvious problem, and the rest of his game, (besides the couple of bad chips) is pretty solid for a 19 hcp, and if he took the driver out of his bag, or learnt to hit it straight, or used an easier club, he could take 3-5 shots off his score…..
@notaperfectgolfer3489
@notaperfectgolfer3489 2 жыл бұрын
Well noticed! I messed up the alignment on the 6th tee big time, old habits creeping back in. My feet should be straight on with the small tree in the fairway but for some reason were aiming miles left! I can hit the 3 wood off the tee ok, but it's prone to skying so I stick with the driver. Thanks for watching :-)

So as to not put yourself under too much pressure you could try this. Add two shots to the par rating of each hole, this now becomes your par (on a std 72 par course that would give you a total of 98 :) ) EG - par 5 is now a 7 for you. I was told to try this by a pro and it worked in the early days, stopped me from getting down on myself after a bad hole.

Your videos are top notch. The attitude is just beyond amazing and inspiring. I think I am fairly laid back on the course but this is just another level. Will emulate to the best of my limited abilities! Thanks for the content!

I do get annoyed like anyone else, but a lot of the time I'm really happy to be on the course so that mitigates the golfing struggles. Having said that, I recently missed an easy 4 footer for a birdie and that was very frustrating! Thanks for watching :-)

Great round James. Good recovery from back 9 wobble. Nett under par for the round so I expect your handicap will drop again!

Yes, it went down after this round for sure as it was my best ever score. Thanks for watching!

really admire how you minimise the damage from your poor shots by just bringing the ball in the play. Most of the average golfers won't do it and lose more shots. Really well done and I can see your handicap is gonna cut down further rapidly. May I ask how are you getting tracers? Is it shot tracer live?

I don't really go for any 'hero' shots. I learnt the hard way haha! I use the app 'Shot Tracer' on Apple. Thanks for watching!

Played well with that putter from distance to save bogey and double. Putting seems to really make or break us. Great video

How long have you been playing. I just recently started. Great job getting out of the bunker. I can't do that shot at all!

I've been playing about 15 months. Since the the first UK lockdown in the UK I bought a few clubs off ebay to go with my old set that had been unused for 10 years!

Hey Steve, in this video kzbin.info/www/bejne/j5THmGeDh9GgZ6s at 7:25 I did a breakdown of what happened in the lessons to improve my game. I never had a golf lesson before as I wanted to break 100 with no lessons for the channel. Thanks for watching
